I think HS18 and India Plaza both have same rates for almost all the books.. The service of Indiaplaza is better so far.. All the books I'd ordered through it have been sent on-time..
Sentiments about flipkart are exactly the same as Anirban..Frigin faggots !I thought of trying Bookadda..But then, I was not so sure...Girish, you say their delivery and service are commendable ?
They are ok .delivery is late as their regular courier do not cater to my location and I get my books through speed post. Some books are cheaper compared to hs 18 . I compare prices on both sites before making the decision.

Landmark is too...mostly crowded!! And no AmazingAwesomeGripping books that I could find...
Reliance...best for series like Goosebumps :)
Anybody from MUMBAI suggest me a good place (read cheap, even second hand will do) to buy books. I have spent enough on Crossword. I could use some discounts :)
@ Rosun there is a place called Evershine nagar ...thre there is a dairy diagonally opp there i think is a good place for second hand books ...he does procure books too if u want them ...visited that place just about last year in Sept end just before i came back to bangalore

I usually buy books from the bookstore Current Books. But recently I found an online site...www.buybooksindia.com. I had ordered 'Narcopolis' which costed rs.499 and after discount i got it for rs.339(that's a better discount than flipkart could provide!).
yup i ordered 4 books from homeshop18 a few days back (life is what you make it, she broke up with me..., you were my crush, the missed cal) for approx 200 rsand also i went to the 'BO0OKS BY WEIGHT' fair at churchgate and got 11 good quality books, novels (two are hardbacks) for only 300 rs!! best bargain ever! they were selling books by weight. 1 kg of books for 100 bucks. so they were cheap, pre-loved (second hand) but all original prints. no duplicate copies :)

Hi mitali this BO0OKS BY WEIGHT fair is still going on??Sounds cool.......
unfortunately it ended a couple of days ago.keep looking for adds in Mumbai Mirror (newspaper). that is where i came across their add saying there's this fair. :)
and also, i'll post it here if there's another fair in mumbai by any chance.
I buy books from flipkart. Is that worth enough? or is there any other cheaper online shop where I can buy books?

www.indiabookstore.net is better....you should definitely try it out
Adithyan wrote: "I buy books from flipkart. Is that worth enough? or is there any other cheaper online shop where I can buy books?"Indiaplaza and Homeshop18 are much more cheaper than FlipKart..

Especially Homeshop18....even tradus.com has got some good deals
Bahri and Sons in DelhiStrand in Mumbai
minoo and Dinshaws in Lucknow
Landmarks in Bangalore
and bookstores in abids in hyderabad
and nowdays kindle store is also good as it offers a lot of books which are not avlbl here in india otherwise i think Flipkart offers the best service even though there might be cheaper websites out there.........
There is a discount sale in Landmark Bangalore (Not sure about other cities).. This weekend I visited there and there are a plenty of books with 70% discount.. Also there are lots of books under 3 for 2 offer.. And they gave some promotional offer discount of some Rs.130 on my bill of 750.. :)
If you are planning to buy any book I guess you can plan a visit to landmark this week.. :)
Flipkart. Cash on delivery, free home shipping above 300 and a vast collection of books. No need to go all the way across town to the book shop anymore. Flipkart has more books than the book shops in my town!
I was in Bangalore and checked out Blossom Book House. Decent collection and the prices are amazing.
