Robin | 10 comments This is just for nostalgia's sake. I distinctly remember loving this nonfiction children's book about how to sketch/draw when I was a kid in the '90s. It featured a worm. It was a general drawing book not specifically drawing people or animals and it wasn't about drawing a worm. The worm was the character that taught you how to draw. I can't figure out what to put into google to find this book. I don't remember the title. I think the cover was yellow. Please help me if you can.

Susan (susanconder) Could it be an Ed Emberly book? He had books on how to draw, but I don't remember a worm as the teacher. The book I had was about using regular shapes - squares, rectangles, circles, etc - and putting them together to make animals.

Kate | 5 comments Richard Scarry released heaps of childrens books and though I can't find a direct reference to a drawing book, they would often feature a worm character.
Do you recognise him as being the worm you're thinking of maybe? Richard Scarry's Lowly Worm Word Book (A Chunky Book(R)) by Richard Scarry

The worm was green. It might have been a caterpillar. That picture is a different worm.

Lindsay | 12 comments I remember the same book you're talking about. I'm pretty sure it was a worm. I tried some google searches but couldn't find anything for you. I just thought I would let you know you weren't the only one who remered that book.

Eva Was it Lowly Worm, from the Richard Scarry books, perhaps? I haven't seen a drawing book, but it's conceivable.

Tab (tabbrown) | 5084 comments What sorts of things did the worm teach: cartooning, realistic drawing, perspective, etc?

Was it part of a series?

Can you explain what you mean by "the worm taught you how to draw?" Would he give instructions with little speech bubbles?
