"what do you want to do with me" she asked

[Zachman]

"Don't say it like that. It makes it sound like your an item."

she thought about that for a moment then asked "then how should I say it"

"I don't know. Just not like that. I was just thinking if I should take you to school with me."

[Fiamata]

"what's school" she asked

[Zachman]

"The public school. The only school around."

"what is school" she said still confused

"It's a place where you go learn with other kids your age."

"Because you have to learn if you want to get a good job."

"You want to support yourself, and maybe a family right?"

"what do you mean support myself" she asked

"I mean pay your own bills, buy your own food, get the sutff you need or want."

she had never thought about it. a few days ago, she had thought her life would be lived forever in her cell. "I don't know" she said

[Zachman]

"The only problem I think you might have is the crowds of people."

[Fiamata]

"I can get used to them" she said "I can get used to anything if I need to"

"So does thaat mean you want to go?"

[Fiamata]

"sure" she said quietly, not really knowing what she was agreeing to

"Alright! We should go enroll you right now."

[Fiamata]

"ok" she said not sure what he meant but figured it couldn't be bad

"OK! Come on."

she stood up

Charles led her to the school. The school was a large brick building with pipes running through it. It also had large gears within it's walls which made the doors open automatically when you stepped on a pressure plate in front of them, unless locked. "Follow me to administration."

[Fiamata]

she nodded and followed him

[Zachman]

"Alright here we are" he said walking up to a small woman at a desk. "Hello I would like to enroll a new student."
"Name" the woman asked Jinx.

[Fiamata]

"jinx" she said

[Fiamata]

[Zachman]

"Last name" the woman asked again.

[Fiamata]

she didn't understand what the woman meant by last name, but understood that she needed another name. she quickly looked around and saw the word watson written on the clock "watson" she said automatically

[Zachman]

Charles looked at her while the woman kept asking questions. "Address" she asked.

[Fiamata]

she remember hearing that word on tv yesterday and copied the response from the tv "243 maple drive"

[Zachman]

Charles was just staring at her spit out random information. The woman just kept asking questions. "How many parents?"

[Fiamata]

"1" she said

[Zachman]

Charles just sat back and listened to all the lies Jinx spewed out. He waited for her to finish. Finally after all the questions the woman asked her to sign a piece of paper.

[Fiamata]

she looked at the sheet of paper, and randomly put a scribble where the woman said to sign. she smiled weakly "sorry, i have always had terrible hand writing"

[Zachman]

The woman looked at the unrecognizablec hicken scratch. Charles went up and took the paper and signed for her. "All right thank you very much for you time ma'am. We best be going now" he said draggin Jinx out.

[Fiamata]

jinx followed him

"Why did you lie like that?"

[Fiamata]

"automatic reaction" she said. "you tell people what they want to hear, otherwise you don't stay alive"

[Zachman]

"No one is going to hurt you. You don't have to lie anymore."

[Fiamata]

she shook her head. "I don't believe that"

[Zachman]

"You should! No one is out to get you. No one wants to perfom some sort of test on you. All you have to do is tell the truth and be a kid, for however long that might be."

[Fiamata]

"they will come for me" she said "they will find me, and at that point I wont be able to be a kid"

[Zachman]

"No one even knows where you are ok! So just calm down."

[Fiamata]

she wasn't convinced but did calm down "I don't know how to read" she said quietly "or write"

[Zachman]

Charles sighed. "Well then we need to teach you. Lets go back to my house."

[Fiamata]

she nodded
