message 60: by Lisa (new)

Lisa James (sthwnd) Hi everyone, I'm not as talented as the rest of you. I'm just a reader. I don't blog, I simply don't have time. I don't write, or, well, I haven't written in years. I use to write some poetry, but haven't written a word since about 2006. My muse seems to have flown the coop.

Jeannie and Louis Rigod (opalbeach) | 1 comments Hi, Thank you for the invitation to this group. My name is Jeannie and currently, I'm an avid reader. I hope to join the ranks of the writers one day, but it is in the future. I look forward to learning of new books and genres.

Think of it this way...... Your Muse has not flown the coop, your Muse has gone to be energized, with plans to return to you even stronger.....

Kathryn Long | 1 comments Hi everybody! My name is Kathryn Long, aka K. Sean Jennkrist, depending on what I'm writing :-) I think my wanting to write came about from my loving to read. Mysteries are my favorite and authors like Catherine Coulter and Alex Kava. On the lighter side, I enjoy Janet Evanovich, which is where I got the inspiration to write Whips, Cuffs, and Little Brown Boxes. Under Jennkrist I started writing teen novels -- Not So Snow White and Cinderella Geek. It's opened me up to enjoy reading more young adult novels, such as by author Alex Flinn. Glad to be on board!

My first book, a memoir called THE READING LIST: LITERATURE, LOVE AND BACK AGAIN - chronicling my search for love and a new career, all with reference to my favourite novels - is being published shortly. I'm currently working on a historical novel, while blogging about the writing process and what I'm reading for inspiration at www.the-reading-list.com
Looking forward to getting to know you!

message 71: by A. (new)

A. Lightbourne (alightbourne) | 1 comments I am a SciFi/Fantasy writer. I have an ongoing space adventure series called 'Space Trippers' as well as a newly released steampunk romance called 'Brass Hearts- a steampunk fairytale'.

I like classic romances like Jane Austen's (she has a very quick sense of humor), Evelina, North & South, the Pink House, Girl of the Limberlost etc.
I like romantic comedies.
I also like funny scifi like Douglas Adams books.

As a child I loved the Trixie Belden series, I almost have the whole set.

I'm a big fan of manga, great series like Perfect Girl Evolution, Full Metal Panic, Inuyasha, Ranma 1/2, and most shoujo comedy romances.

I look forward to seeing what books are discussed.

message 72: by Tara (new)

Tara | 1 comments Hi everyone, I'm Tara - mom, reader, writer, soon-to-be teacher (pretty much in that order). Two of my three children have autism, so I'm grateful for online book clubs, as I love to read and talk about books, but I don't have much opportunity to get out (other than for work).

I just got my first writing acceptance last week (and my second acceptance yesterday), so I'm still in the Happy Zone. :) I also have a recently-started blog at http://tarasayers.blogspot.com/.

Looking forward to some great books and great discussions!

As this is my first time being in a book group, much less moderating it, I may not always do things perfectly, but I will tell you I am doing what I can to make this a fun experience for all involved!
