No. Not going there."
I wasn't trying to be naughty. O_o But I'll take credit for it all the same.
So started the first Wild Cards.
It's...different.

I just finished The Magician King last night and I'll be starting on The Last Kingdom by Bernard Cornwell today.

How was MKing?

I'm also kinda reading Mistborn..but I keep putting it down to read other books...I think that says a lot for it.

Right now, I'm working on an audio of Uncle Tom's Cabin, and the last 200ish pages of Perdido Street Station. I hope to have both finished by or on the first of the month.

Right now, I'm wo..."
So i should keep going with Mistborn?
I could NOT get into Perdido Street Station, no matter how much I loved Kraken & The City and The City

Funny thing: I got halfway through Boneshaker and stopped."
I dont know if i'll be able to finish BoneShaker, honestly. I dont like to waste time on books that don't draw me in.

However, I saw an interview vid with Mieville regarding City, and that made me really interested in reading that one. So that will be my next book of his. Not sure when I'll get to that, I suppose it depends on how PSS ends and whether I angrily throw the book at the wall or not. :P
Regarding Mistborn, I loved it, but I can see why others wouldn't, and that will depend on your reading style and expectations. It's not as gritty as ASOIAF is, and it's definitely more fantasy, and thus it feels a little "ligher", in a way. But it's hard to really categorize for me. If you're not enjoying it and it hasn't hooked you, then you probably wouldn't like the trilogy, and the story really comes together in the 3rd book.

these are sad days.

That could be... I haven't read very much, at least comparatively with Fantasy Readers.

After a while, like any genre, you get super sick of people with secret magicalness, wizards, special childrens and all that jazz. I think it's much harder now to do fantasy to finding a good series is such a huge score. It's probably also why GRRM has such an incredible following, he breaks all these stupid fantasy tropes that we're so sick of anyway, at least, that's why I love him.

Didja figure out what you want to read, Jax?

The Malazan books are my personal fav's I'm reading Forge of Darkness right now it's blowing me away.
