My proofreading and editing site is at http://proofreaderone.weebly.com. I love helping authors polish their work!
Follow me on Twitter! I'm not sure how to post a shortened link, so here's my Twitter profile: https://twitter.com/#!/RachelVDiMaggio

Feel free to check out my blog www.ashmp.wordpress.com which basically my live journal of stumbling into publishing.

I'm a book reviewer and freelance editor.
As an editor, I work mostly with self-publishing fiction authors. I take on a broad scope of projects, but what I love to work on is science fiction, fantasy, and YA. My website is href="http://www.jessicaklasseneditorialser... Klassen Editorial Services.
My book review blog is called StarLit, and again, I review science fiction, fantasy, and YA. I review books at random and by request.
Good luck publishing, everyone!

I'm a writer and editor. I'm still getting a freelancing business going, but my blog (at http://www.105creations.com) is about books and reading in general, rather than editing tips in particular.
I'm a graduate of the publishing program offered by Ryerson University in Toronto. It's a really good program.

My name is Mimi Barbour and I'm a published author with Wild Rose Press. My series with them is called The Vicarage Bench Series and the books are spirit-time travel, quite humorous love stories that take place in the vintage era in a small village setting in a place called Bury, UK.
I've recently self published a book called "MY Cheeky Angel" - for $.99 as an incentive to readers to check out my new series "Angels with Attitude"
I love to interact with other authors and am always looking for a reviewer who will be willing to read my work (free copies available of course) and leave honest reviews on sites such as Amazon, Smashwords and Goodreads. So...if you're interested please leave me a message and I'll get back to you. Check out my blogsite for excerpts and back blurbs here http://mimibarbour.blogspot.com

Hi Ashley!!! It sounds like we're in the same boat. I just finished my first manuscript a few months ago and am in the editing and revising process. I've had a few people peer review it but I'm really looking for an editor to help me polish it up. I've been looking online for freelance editors but most of them have been out of my price range. I know you get what you pay for but I am literally broke. How has the search been going for you??
Also you mentioned keeping a running blog of your experience entering the publishing world. I'm about to graduate from Texas Tech University but I'm in a web design class and my final project is a blog pretty much about the same thing. It's not online yet but it will be by the end of the semester.
Are you planning on self-publishing or have you been queriying any agents or publishing houses? I've recieved quite a few rejection letters, unfortunately, but my book is a mix between YA and latin historical fiction so I'm sure it would take a while to find a home.

Hey Rachel, I would love to add you to my list of GR friends; however, I saw that you had your profile set to private. If you would like to add me as a friend, I would be very thankful.

I'm a writer mostly science fiction and fantasy also poetry. I work on a bunch of stories at the same time skipping around between them. I just counted how many stories I have going and I realized I have about 30 started. I'm looking for someone to edit my work, point out wholes in my plots, just generally give feed back on what I write.

Call me Em or Anna. I write, but my self editing sucks. Any tips you could share would be great. I've started my own help book, but it doesn't help if I can't see the errors.
Oh, the book is a reference book for me...

My name is Heather and I'm trying to get into editing/proofreading. I'm looking to build up my resume, so if anyone has anything that needs a proofer, I'd love to take a look at it.

And of course there is me... I always need help, but I'm still in the unpublished category. Would it cost anything?
If you are still interested in me, I'll throw some things your way. Let me know...

I'm really in need of an editor right now. If you're interested you can check out what I have up on here.

If you want to proof and edit sign up with Scriophile. I also have an account there. It is for writers and editors. Many a crit is done by an up and coming editor.
Anyway, enough of that. I will let you know when I have something for you.
It is really nice to meet you. I didn't say that earlier and I should have. This is great.

Highlight what you think should be deleted, backspace will draw a line through it, and placing your curser between words will make a green space to write comments or additions to the work.
On the right of the piece are other things like getting an email when the next chapter goes up or lower down a list of other posted chapters of the same novel.
I'll see you around there drop by my scratchpad and leave me a note.
If are interested, Seasons Change is mine. I'd love to hear or read what you think.

I added you to my Favorites list. I look forward to reading your work.

I'm so glad you joined.

Avid reader and slightly less avid writer, just getting back into things after a substantial break. I would love for feedback/opinion or just your thoughts on any of my writing: http://www.goodreads.com/story/list/6...
Also, I would be more than happy to read through/comment/review or edit for others if needed :)

I am Literary Marie. I am an avid reader, writer, book reviewer and copyeditor. My book blog focuses on book reviews, literary news and discussion (www.literarymarie.com). I am in the process of creating a professional website for my freelance editing.
I am looking forward to networking with everyone here and building great relationships.
Hi, I'm Georgina. I'm an Australian and an indie writer, two great reasons to be part of this group. Oh, and I love editors, they're a writer's best friend. I recently sent my latest manuscript to a fantastic developmental editor, and her feedback was so spot on I've decided I'll never release anything again without enlisting the services of editors.

Nice to meet you, Georgina. Glad to hear that we are a writer's best friend.

Nice to meet you, Sandie. Good luck with graduate school.

Hi LiteraryMarie. Very much so. Releasing an unedited book is like going out in public in your pajamas. :) (And readers don't forget)

I like your example, Georgina.

I am Simona and I am new to the editing/proofreading world. Because of the critiques I have done for a friend, he has asked me to be his editor. To say that I'm excited is an unders..."
Welcome to the group and to the editing world, Simona.

If you're looking for help in editing or proofing, let me know. I'm always willing to help out new writers! I'm glad to be a part of this group.

Nice to meet you, Jennifer.

My name is Ben, I am currently fighting between my day job and a thriller I have been working on. I have two short stories floating around on the net which I used to see how self-publishing worked and the response has been good so far. Still learning, still a spring chicken at this game but enjoying thoroughly enjoying the ride. Will be looking for an editor, proofreader etc in the very near future.
Feel to follow me on twitter https://twitter.com/#!/benkalcher or on goodreads if you want to chat :)

My name is Isaac. I just graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, and I'm looking to get into the editing and proofreading game. I'm a big fan of baseball, science fiction and comic books. But more importantly, I love to read.
I prefer science fiction and graphic novels, but I'm open to just about anything.
I have a blog too with fun cartoons, poems and stories! Here it is:
http://ice4249.blogspot.com/
I'll try to get some updates soon.

My name is Kayla, I'm 15 and I love books, reading, and correcting mistakes. After college I'm going to be an editor, so in about eight years, you guys can contact me. Anyways, I look forward to being in this group!
Sweetly, Kayla
I've just started a group on GR that aims to pool writer resources: cover artists, editors, blurb writers (I'm sure there is a more official name!), reviewers, bloggers, small presses and publishers etc. I'm hoping no one minds me posting the link here. I'm hoping the group will eventually serve as a database for writers.

DRP is a legitmate, royalty-paying publishing company - we've just updated our focus to e-books and dead tree via POD. DRP has contracts directly with Amazon, B&N and Kobo, and I hope to be adding iBooks via Smashwords soon.
On the other side of the coin, I write business (specifically marketing) non-fiction these days instead of fiction.
Nice to meet you all!
