Margo Candela (margocandela) | 2 comments I saw this book about a year ago, trade paperback. The gist of the story is of an inept king of England and his flighty wife who are pushed aside because they just aren't working out for the country. I can see the cover art (the upper faces of a man and woman in crowns) but for the life of me, I can not remember the title and I want to suggest it to someone.

Thanks!
Margo

Vanessa | 15 comments I know that the plot of Shakespeare's "Richard II" is what you describe, so perhaps the novel you read was a modern interpretation of "Richard II"?

Peggy | 21 comments Hmmm...

Check out Julian Barnes' England, England, Sue Townsend's The Queen & I, and Mark Helprin's Freddy & Fredericka. None of them sound exactly right, but they all sound close.
