While all mine tend to be quite boring I've seen some other users with book shelf names that make me wish you could put in a description just so I could know why. Please share some of your strange/funny/unusual book self names and stories with me. ;-)

I wish that sometimes as well! Sometimes I'm just idly browsing and I'll end up on someone's shelf with a really weird name and I'm trying to figure out why from the books on it, but can't.My shelf names are rather dull, apart from a couple. One is 'don't mention the war', which is a line from the wonderful Fawlty Towers amd -rather predictably I'm afraid - I put books I've read about WW2 on that shelf. The only other slightly weird one is 'seen on TV', which I use for scripts and tie-ins of TV shows and the like. 'Seen on TV' has oddly enough always been one of my favourite phrases.
I saw someone having "genre-splatterpunk." I don't know what it is, but it's intriguing.PS- mine are boring too. I have lab-lit, because with my background in chemistry, I enjoy fiction about science. Mind you, that's different from science fiction.
From the authors, I'm guessing splatterpunk is something of a bloodfest, slasher type read. I've read some Jack Ketchum (he's on the list) and I just bought "The Light at the End of the Tunnel" (the supposed original splatterpunk novel) for my Nook (I do mean in the last couple minutes). You are an evil man for posting such an intriguing shelf name, Pete. ;)If you ever want to look up a genre on GR, click explore, then genres, and type in the name. Splatterpunk doesn't have a description yet but there is a lovely list of titles in that genre. ;)
Ahh, shelf names--I've seen books shelved by the state/country they are set in. Someone has all 50 states with books!! -g-
