Patrick Notchtree | 7 comments Ihave it in my head that when a review is posted on Amazon it is automatically copied to the book on Goodreads. My new novel has just picked up a 5 sta review on Amazon but it's not showing up in Goodreads. Was this my imagination?
I there a way of making this happen?

I'm sorry, no. Amazon has so far kept the review process at Goodreads (which has a different star system) not automatically connected to the one on Amazon proper. Each site has its own rules, its own rating system, and, more importantly, its own approval process.

A reviewer might be able to post here - but not on Amazon, for example, if they don't buy $50 worth of merchandise on Amazon, the method Amazon currently uses to separate real readers from bots, because the scammers can't afford to create many accounts AND buy $50 worth of merchandise on each.

It isn't a perfect method - but note that Amazon does NOT require that you BUY the book there before you can review it. This is very generous of them - accommodating people who bought elsewhere or received the book as an ARC from the author/publisher hoping for a review. I get many of my reviews from ARCs.

Just ask your GR reviewer if they would be kind enough to post their review on Amazon - and be understanding if they can't or won't.
