I don't think Lynne Spears is exactly the go-to for parenting advice...so I completely agree with you.
I just think the whole, abstinence argument isn't fair to always fall back on. Regardless of beliefs or politics (and this isn't just specific to JLS, just teens in general, and most of her fans are 9-14 you can't just say 'it's not good to do it but the girl you look up to DOES' you need to explain to them why).
And I agree, the more people talk about waiting being the thing today instead of whoring it up a la most girls on MySpace I'm sure a lot will change. I doubt it will happen, but I also think actually talking about the issues and what certain stuff is, what is safe what is not AS WELL as abstinence with your kids/brothers/sisters/whatever is really important. I don't think it's right to just say 'DONT DO IT' you have to explain why, and not just because 'its okay to wait'.
Beth! Seriously? Wow sounds interesting.
And I agree, JLS isn't stupid, she's well aware I'm just surprised she wasn't...being safe. But who knows, maybe she was or maybe she slipped up and did something stupid at age 16. It happens.
