Chuck is awesome. I hate how he has to die at the end.:( He was a good friend to Tomas. He risked himself for him. That is what a true friend does.I hate Galie.

I loved Chuch! That was SOO unexpected...or wanted. :) Poor Chuck!

yeah poor chuck, he was like the child of the group, always asking for a friend and missing the family that he can't even remember ... but well it was unexpected but somewhat predictable that someone good and important to Thomas had to die.
I loved chuck at the start and after he saved Thomas i just loved him even more. He will be missed

didn't really like him... and it was kind of necessary for him to die anyways. only the tough ones ended up surviving.

Why do people like to spoil things?? if you are in a discussion of the first book and you want to add something of book 3, why don't they put it in the spoiler tags (view spoiler)? at least the person above wrote it in capital letters that she was going to say a spoiler, but still, i think people should hide it in the spoiler tags... I've seen many discussions and very often people spoil things of further books...

I guess some part of me expected Chuck's death all along, but I was starting to believe that he really WOULD make it home safe, after all they went through! It was such a shame. I almost cried. Thomas seemed so grieved.

He was a likable character but his death didn't impress me at all, I don't know, i didn't feel anything... i feel like the author killed him to add emotion to the book but failed making me love his character, so it didn't work.

I liked Chuck, I feel like he was one of the only characters who was still a kid, he really looked up to Thomas. It was sad that they used him to manipulate Thomas's feelings, as part of a variable. Wicked is just cruel!Team Chancellor Paige!!!
chuck is the best, i love the way that he is so nice to thomas, and also so glad that he's not the greenbean anymmore. but he was soo scared when that thing happened. (don't wanna spoil it) that i had to stop reading for a bit. i really like chuck!CHUCK FAN CLUB MEMBER!!!!!!!

I honestly thought Chuck was kind of annoying, but I can see how Thomas clung to him in his short time in the Maze; he really was the only true friend Thomas had. But it makes for a good read when something angsty happens!

When I read that Chuck died I was so sad! I thought he was a great character, and was a great friend toward Thomas. I never thought he was that annoying like Thomas indicated, but I wished that was translated in the movie.
Every time I hear Chucks name it makes me want to cry. Its sooooooo sad I love that kid. But somewhat spoilers the movie was nothing like the book Chuck died because wicked was controlling Gally and so Gally threw a knife at Thomas and Chuck jumped in-front of Thomas to save him cuz they were besties! It explains it with Aris in the second book. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DARN SAD! I CRIED IN THE BOOK AND MOVIE!!!!

Yes but we can't blame Gally... he was being controlled. Also, you later find out that (view spoiler) But then in the movie... he DID jump in front of Tommy on purpose. I like that way better, RIP Chuck :'(
Yeah, I like the idea that he jumped on purpose, it adds to the sweetness of his character. So so sad that he died though :( I loved the poor kid
