I recently finished that series as well, listening to the audio. I was actually surprised that I liked it as much as I did, but I really fell for the relationship between the main characters.

Christine | 752 comments Finally, finally getting around to Skinwalker (Jane Yellowrock, #1) by Faith Hunter and I really like Beast.

Also reading Charming (Pax Arcana, #1) by Elliott James which reminds me a bit of the Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne in the tone and style of writing.

It's been on my TBR pile since it came out and when I saw that it was on GR's semi-final round for Best of List for Sci Fi 2013, I decided to get on it.

Me too it was a good story and I think she did them very well to be a novella.

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 822 comments I just finished Wild Darkness (Bound by Magick, #4) by Lauren Dane a good ending to the series. Will then move onto The Iron Traitor (The Iron Fey Call of the Forgotten, #2) by Julie Kagawa and Kinked (Elder Races, #6) by Thea Harrison

Dawn (dawnv) | 367 comments Just finished Nightshifted (Edie Spence, #1) by Cassie Alexander the book has lots of potential but it managed to fall fairly flat in a few areas and our heroine is quite frequently TSTL. At any rate there is enough there which makes me curious about the next book so I will check it out eventually.

Next up for me is Styxx (Dark-Hunter, #24) by Sherrilyn Kenyon Biting Bad (Chicagoland Vampires, #8) by Chloe Neill Magic and Loss (Golgotham #3) by Nancy A. Collins

My husband just bought the Wool omnibus this past weekend so hopefully I can get to it when he's done, though he's a notoriously slow reader.

I'm still reading The Darwin Elevator (Dire Earth Cycle, #1) by Jason M. Hough .

Also, saw that Amazon is offering a free extended preview on Kindle of Sabina Kane's new series Dirty Magic (The Prospero's War, #1) by Jaye Wells . Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/Dirty-Magic-Ext...

message 2221: by Christine (new)

Christine | 752 comments I'm almost done with Charming (Pax Arcana, #1) by Elliott James (seriously, ten pages left to go, why isn't my lunch break longer?!) and it's been quite a fun read. I think the main character may be a little too much of a smart ass for some, but I enjoy the tone of his writing and look forward to John Charming's next adventure.

message 2222: by Christine (new)

Christine | 752 comments But what to read next? I'm thinking it might be time to get back to Kitty and Martini and Alien Proliferation (Katherine "Kitty" Katt, #4) by Gini Koch . Maybe.

message 2223: by Marsha (new)

Marsha | 114 comments Right now I'm reading Nightwalker (Dark Days, #1) by Jocelynn Drake and I'm enjoying it more than I anticipated. Maybe it's because I bought it at a library sale for only $1!.

Julia | 615 comments My book club and I are reading Wool Omnibus (Silo, #1; Wool, #1-5) by Hugh Howey . I'm really liking it, but I'm reading it on Kindle, which I share. So I have other books going like Joss Whedon and Religion Essays on an Angry Atheist's Explorations of the Sacred by Anthony R Mills , which is less fun than it sounds like...

message 2227: by Marianne (new)

Marianne The Plague Forge (Dire Earth Cycle, #3) by Jason M. Hough The Plague Forge Which I'm not liking as much as the previous two books, even though it is good.

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen Pride and Prejudice The book that started it all.

Haven't read any UF for a while...

It's okay. It really is good, just not quite as riveting as the first or second. I'm having trouble keeping interest even though I'm almost done.

How was Hellbent? I gave up on that series, but I loved Shame and would read a series just about him.

Midnight Bluelight Special is one of my favorite books.

Being in Shame's head was... different from the Allie series...Some characters of that series were present, and it had some spoilers for the Allie Beckstrom series, but this book was totally different aside from that.

Shame is interesting as ever. You've got to read this book.

Midnight Bluelight Special is one my very favourites too. I could read the book just for the Aeslin Mice!

message 2241: by BR (new)

BR Kingsolver (brkingsolver) | 36 comments I just finished

Touch the Dark (Cassandra Palmer, #1) by Karen Chance

which was pretty good. I'm not a big fan of vampires, and it helps that this book treats them rather tongue-in-cheek. Well written, and the start of a series I'll probably pursue.

and

Urban Shaman (Walker Papers, #1) by C.E. Murphy

This is a paranormal cop series and although I liked it, I'm still not entirely sure I'll continue with the series. It's definitely different, and that's a good thing.

message 2242: by MadameZelda (new)

MadameZelda I hope this is urban fantasy -- but I'm starting Wolf's Oath (After the Crash #3.25) by Maddy Barone .

message 2243: by Marsha (new)

I'm so surprised at how much this book has captured my attention. It's one of those that keeps running through my mind all day long and I can't wait to get back to it:) It's been a while since I've found a book like that.

Chakara - you know, it took about half of the first book before I felt hooked. Honestly, I almost put it down until that point. I don't know what changed... but something finally drew me in. Hope you find it better the second time around:)
