I had trouble getting into Doomsday Vault, too. I might try it later.

I'm about two thirds of the way through it now and I'm determined to plow ahead. My mind is definitely skipping ahead to the next book on my list though.

An excellent book. Evocative prose. Real characters. Explores emotions and no heavy-handed convoluted plot.

Absolutely!! I did the same thing:)

I LOVE this series! It's the only series in which I've given five stars to every single book.

Now that's just the funniest title I've seen in a while!

It was awesome. Maybe not quite as good as book two, but the author has such a great way of bringing out real heartfelt emotion without getting all sappy sentimental or preachy that I had to give it five stars.

Agreed! The title alone might make it worth reading. lol

I wish I loved it as much as you did. It was just OK for me. Chess is definitely a tough heroine to relate to, but I don't plan on giving this series up yet.

For me, I thought the author did a very good job of making Chess sympathetic and explaining how she got to where she it without glorifying her lifestyle. I was so often torn between hugging her and shaking some sense into her. Plus, I like the author's writing style so that helps a lot.

I do have some urban fantasy on my list, though - I will catch up on The Dresden Files (by Jim Butcher) if it kills me!

How was

Hammered is by far the worst of the IDC books. Don't give up they get better again

Hammered was slower and darker than the previous two books in the series, but I liked it because I felt we got to see more of Atticus' past and get a better sense of what he's had to deal with living as long as he has.

Now I am really enjoying the snark and bad attitude that is Sandman Slim in

Currently reading the second book Kiss of Blood in the Pamela Palmer series. The plot picks up where Quinn is still facing residual side effects from her stay at Vamp City. I heard about the series in a Goodreads recommendation list. Also reading the book of the month: Red-Headed Step-Child by Sabina Kane.
