Finished
, trying to get through
but it's been slow going. I have

I'm about two thirds of the way through it now and I'm determined to plow ahead. My mind is definitely skipping ahead to the next book on my list though.
It's nice to have the budget for books again... Been spending most of my reading time lately on certification test prep books rather than UF. Picked up "Death's Rival" , "Kitty Rocks the House", and the 4th Daughter of the Black Sun novel last week.
Drayton, the TakerAn excellent book. Evocative prose. Real characters. Explores emotions and no heavy-handed convoluted plot.

It was awesome. Maybe not quite as good as book two, but the author has such a great way of bringing out real heartfelt emotion without getting all sappy sentimental or preachy that I had to give it five stars.
In the past week I finished
which was good. I'm not in love with this series but I like it a lot. I also listened to the audio of
. At the beginning I thought it would turn out to be a five star read for me, but it meandered a little too long for me towards the end. Still, I loved the concept and plan to continue to see what happens next. Now I'm on to
in print and
on audio.

Agreed! The title alone might make it worth reading. lol

I wish I loved it as much as you did. It was just OK for me. Chess is definitely a tough heroine to relate to, but I don't plan on giving this series up yet.

For me, I thought the author did a very good job of making Chess sympathetic and explaining how she got to where she it without glorifying her lifestyle. I was so often torn between hugging her and shaking some sense into her. Plus, I like the author's writing style so that helps a lot.
Currently reading Empire of Ivory by Naomi Novik - fantasy alternate history rather than urban fantasy, but what's not to love about the Napoleonic War with dragons? I do have some urban fantasy on my list, though - I will catch up on The Dresden Files (by Jim Butcher) if it kills me!
Just Finished "Fifth Grave Past the Light", half way through Tremble by Jus Accardo, just starting Frigid" by J. Lynn (JL Armentrout)and Skybound by Aleksandr Voinov.

Hammered is by far the worst of the IDC books. Don't give up they get better again

Hammered was slower and darker than the previous two books in the series, but I liked it because I felt we got to see more of Atticus' past and get a better sense of what he's had to deal with living as long as he has.
I had some really good laughs with
. I imagine it's kind of funny on it's own, but it's a lot funnier if you've already read her Jane Jameson series and are familiar with all the side characters. Now I am really enjoying the snark and bad attitude that is Sandman Slim in
What book(s) are you reading right now? Urban Fantasy or other genres... How do you like it so far? What is it about? How did you hear about it? Is it part of a series or a standalone?Currently reading the second book Kiss of Blood in the Pamela Palmer series. The plot picks up where Quinn is still facing residual side effects from her stay at Vamp City. I heard about the series in a Goodreads recommendation list. Also reading the book of the month: Red-Headed Step-Child by Sabina Kane.
I am reading this book
and I love the elements of ancient China and Japan in the story. There are no wizards, elves , dwarves or even "magic" but as Orson Scott Card mentioned: " extraordinarily rich storytelling " !!
Just finished the Kitty Norvelle series (until tomorrow when the new book come out) just started the Mercy Thompson series
I'm reading
, then will move onto
and then back to
which I put aside for Magic Rises, then will move to
