Sara | 51 comments I finished The Blue Blazes (Mookie Pearl, #1) by Chuck Wendig . The book has a very slow build but picks up in the middle. It has a very gritty atmosphere with several nightmare-inducing creatures. Roach-rats! I'm off to finish Dead Man's Deal (The Asylum Tales, #2) by Jocelynn Drake .

message 1854: by Brian (new)

Brian Hoffman I'm reading Strange Toys. A real classic in UF.

I'm so glad you're enjoying White Trash Zombie! I love that book, and Angel, on so many levels. There was much more to it than I was expecting.

I am halfway through Discovery of Witches A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy, #1) by Deborah Harkness by Deborah Harkness. It is a long book which I really like. I love that there are so many different kinds of supernatural beings in this book.

message 1861: by Jalilah (new)

Jalilah I am reading the second to last of the Sookie Stackhouse series Deadlocked Charlaine Harris writing is really enjoyable and her characters in Bon Temps have become like old friends. My favourite in the series will always be Dead to the World. I feel the series went down hill after book 7, but I still want to see what happens in the end.

message 1862: by Christine (new)

Christine | 752 comments I just finished Lust for Life (WVMP Radio, #4) by Jeri Smith-Ready . It was a very nice wrap up to the series, but I must admit I did not see THAT coming.

I'm debating whether or not to start The Rift Walker (Vampire Empire, #2) by Clay Griffith . I hear it's kind of slow and I'm not sure I'm in the mood for slow right now.

Christine | 752 comments I finished Tempest Rising (Jane True, #1) by Nicole Peeler and while I stared out with high hopes for it, in the end it was a little disappointing for me. There were plenty of things about it I liked, but then there were just as many things that irritated or bothered me. I might try the second one at some point to see if the writing evens out.

Now, I'm starting Raven Calls (Walker Papers, #7) by C.E. Murphy

Karen (karengreco) | 29 comments Have Dead Things by Stephen Blackmoore in my to read pile, happy to hear good things. Am really enjoying The Tube Riders (The Tube Riders, #1) by Chris Ward right now. It's set in a futuristic, kind of post-Apocalyptic London, but reminds me of The Warriors for some reason. Anyway, really enjoying it so far.

How do you like Nightlife? I know a lot of people love Rob Thurman, but I thought Trick of Light sounded more interesting, and I find it kind of meh. It's one of those books I keep putting down and not picking up again for weeks. Wondering if I picked the wrong series.

message 1891: by Sara (new)

Sara | 51 comments I enjoyed it. I like the relationship between Cal & Niko - it reminds me of Sam & Dean from Supernatural. It was the first in the series so it was a bit slow at times and the ending dragged a bit but I will continue the series. I've also read Slashback (Cal Leandros, #8) by Rob Thurman the latest in the series and it was excellent.

I LOVE her Leandros books. Trick of the Light was good but not nearly as good as her Cal books. Slashback was really really good in my opinion

message 1893: by Karen (new)

Karen (karengreco) | 29 comments Oh dear. Sounds like I picked the wrong series to start! I'll try the Cal one and maybe shelve Trick for the time being. Trick sounded so perfect for me too. Oh well.
