Ashley Marie (darlingdoor) | 158 comments Reading Katya's World (Russalka Chronicles, #1) by Jonathan L. Howard and I love it so far. It's YA without feeling YA - no love triangles or sparkly boyfriends or inappropriate angst anywhere in sight! Plus, it's set on a submarine, which feels fresh and not overdone yet.

message 1508: by Neil (new)

Neil Benson | 4 comments I feel obliged to report that the vampires in A Discovery of Witches do not have fangs. Furthermore, they walk about during daylight with impunity. At least they are not sparkly.

I find this fanglessness/sun-cavorting disappointing. :( I might have to rethink its location high atop my TBR pile.

Rowling Once Upon a Crime (The Sisters Grimm, #4) by Michael Buckley so far loving them I was getting in a bit of a reading rut still havent finished Switched (Trylle, #1) by Amanda Hocking and im in the last few pages.

message 1516: by Tasha (new)

Tasha Turner (tashaturner) I just finished reading The Secret Trinity Unearth (Fae-Witch, #1) by Jenna Bernel and The Secret Trinity Ignite (Fae-Witch, #2) by Jenna Bernel . Enjoyed the 2nd more than the 1st as the characters and plot were fleshed out more.

I'm currently reading Death's Excellent Vacation by Charlaine Harris with mixed feeling on the short stories, I'm only liking a couple which is unusual for me with anthologies. I'm also reading On Writing by Stephen King which is okay for a book on writing.

I have from the library to read Bloodfever (Fever, #2) by Karen Marie Moning , Moon Called (Mercedes Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs , and Drink Deep (Chicagoland Vampires, #5) by Chloe Neill .

message 1517: by Matthew (new)

This one ended up being dnf for me. It was a maybe book for me, I thought the premise sounded interesting, but for some reason I was turned off as I was reading and didn't get very far.

message 1533: by Paula (new)

Paula (pauldajo) I'm reading Angelfall. Easy reading, well written.

message 1534: by Tasha (new)

Tasha Turner (tashaturner) I'm reading the 1st 5 Elemental Assassin books by Jennifer Estep. I really enjoyed the 1st 2. The third was ok. I've just started book 4. I got distracted from my planned reading by seeing her books were on sale.

Maria Schneider (bearmountainbooks) | 299 comments Ashley Marie wrote: "Just finished I Kill Giants Titan Edition, and it was FANTASTIC. Definitely worth a read if you're at all into graphic novels."

I just finished Confessions of a D-List Supervillain. It's not a graphic novel, but rather that type of story in book form. If you like graphic novel/superhero books, I think you'd like this (but I don't really read much by way of graphic novels so I am guessing.) It's a good story, I thought. It's outside my normal genre.

That actually sounds like an interesting read. But I've always thought supervillains were just more fun than heroes :)

It was pretty good. I really enjoyed the sarcasm and the rebelling against the corporation he worked for (there were some good geek lines in there too.)

message 1547: by Susan (new)

Susan | 145 comments I started Night Shift by Lilith Saintcrow. Night Shift (Jill Kismet, #1) by Lilith Saintcrow

message 1548: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 188 comments The ending of Onyx made absolutly no sense. Although I want to read Opal I think I will wait until I finish up on her other YA series. Romance is not my thing the other books didnt jump right out with a Romance followed by a Love Triangle. so Pure is next for me from this author.

Ive read 8 books this month but none of them were my planned reads so Im not sure what to get into next. So many new books are coming out as well and series I need to get on for my blog.

What do you all recomend?

sorry if there is a thread for this already Im just letting my fingers move with what ever my brain tells them to.

Let us know what you think. I'm still trying to get caught up on the series so I can read the ARC I won... I think it's starting to burn a hole on the bookshelf as I keep grabbing it and then reminding myself I'm not up to it yet.
