What are you reading?
Laura, Loved the Downside Ghosts series. Unholy GhostsI am currently reading book 2 in the Twenty Palaces series. Loved book one. Wow. Child of Fire
I picked up
on a whim at an airport bookstore because I liked the cover. First page is the Main Character talking about how much she hates flying. I had to have it! So far I like it quite a bit.
After finishing Dmitri's book, I tried four other books, before Queen of Shadows finally grabbed my interest.
So far, I'm very intrigued by the story...

LOL! I once read a book that I was loving so much that about 100 pages in, I almost went back to the beginning to start over because it was going too fast!

Bumer! I've really enjoyed the Weather Warden series; too bad this series isn't up to par.
Ghunterhanks wrote: "Bumer! I've really enjoyed the Weather Warden series; too bad this series isn't up to par."I would still give it a try. Maybe not buy it, try to get it from the library. I don't care for her Weather Warden series, but do like her Morganville Vampires. If you do try it let us know what you think of it.
I am now reading A Living Nightmare and Clockwork Heart which I've had in my TBR pile for years. I'm glad that I'm finally reading it.

I got the sample of this on my kindle and couldn't even get through that. Looks like I didn't miss much. I did lover her Weather Warden series and have read some of her YA series, so I was pretty disappointed.

Just finished book #2 of Night Huntress series. Everyone else seems to love them but I don't know if I'll invest in the next few or if I should stop here. Does it get any better?

So depending why you didn't like the first two, no it doesn't really get any better. But I'm sure others would disagree with me.

In trying to decide what to read next, this opening made the decision for me: "On one otherwise normal Tuesday evening I had the chance to live the American dream. I was able to throw my incompetent jackass of a boss from a fourteenth-story window."We'll see how I feel about it 700 pages from now.
Christine wrote: "In trying to decide what to read next, this opening made the decision for me: "On one otherwise normal Tuesday evening I had the chance to live the American dream. I was able to throw my incompet..."I have heard really good things about that one.

Danielle wrote: "I grabbed this book when it first came out, read it in one sitting, I enjoyed it, can't wait for the second book"I found I really liked the world the book was set in, but was so so on the rest of it. I do look forward to reading the second book. I hope my issues were just first book sydrome.
I just read
which was a disappointment, ended up only reading 3 stories in them and they weren't that great. I will move on to
and
next.

I hope so as well, I've heard alot of good things about this book.
Still working my way through Monster Hunter International
The lead character/narrator has a good sense of humor, so parts of the book read quickly. But, as I know absolutely nothing about guns and weapons, the paragraph-long descriptions (I'm not kidding) of each person's weapon of choice are really starting to drag for me. Other than those parts, it's interesting and enjoyable. Someone who is more into weaponry and battle tactics might really enjoy it.
I agree about the descriptions of the guns and stuff. I've seen some people refer to it as gun-porn - and they are not wrong.Unfortunately, imo, once the book becomes pretty much non-stop action, towards the end, it starts dragging. Not terribly so, but enough to make me wish it would get a move on already.

LOL!! Gun-porn! That's actually the perfect description.
I had to take a break from Monster Hunter International
. After four days, I still wasn't even half way through it. I read Crescendo
which was a complete change of pace. Now it's back to the remaining 400 pages of Monster Hunter....
Finished this week
on Thursday and today finished
. Can't decide what I want to read next
or
. HMMMM??
