I agree. Sometimes I don't know what to read and I pick up something that's not really what I'm in the mood to read and it taints it a little. I liked the Fever series, but it was one of the first series I started to read when I discovered uf/fantasy/paranormal fiction.

I enjoy this series, although after each book I usually feel like I've just watched an action movie rather than read a book. But they're a fun change of pace for me. The end of the most recent was a killer cliffhanger though.

That is good to know. I am actually listening to the audio of this one. I think that if I had the book I would have given up. If I keep reading the series I will go the audio route for them.

RIN ಠ_ಠ (wriggrin) | 60 comments I've been in a reading funk lately, started
I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga Wicked As They Come (Blud, #1) by Delilah S. Dawson Inside Out (Insider, #1) by Maria V. Snyder and I couldn't really get into them so they have been 'halted' shelf for the time being.

Also tried Red-Headed Stepchild (Sabina Kane, #1) by Jaye Wells . 14% in and the more I read the more I really couldn't get into it so its going onto my Did Not Finish shelf. =/

I caved in and read the first Fever book due to all the hype. It was okay, not amazing but interesting enough though Mac annoys me. I'm considering reading book 2 but it's been awhile since I read the first one so the thought of having to go through it again to refresh my memory is putting me off. >_>

You could probably go through the reviews for Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning to check out the spoilers and refresh your memory. I can't remember if there was much recap in the second book or not. Mac was a bit better in the second book if that helps... (still annoying though).

Aah, Fever. I didn't really even like the first book, but since I had already bought book two (I bought it first by accident) I kept reading. Mac does eventually grow up over the course of the series and I will admit I was temporarily sucked in by my need to find out what Barron's is. I read all five books in about two weeks. I'm glad I read it and overall enjoyed it, but I just don't get the hype. There were too many things that annoyed me. I'd take Kate Daniels or Mercy Thompson over Fever any day.

Anika (teddybear1) | 110 comments Finihsed Ignition (Ignition Trilogy, #1) by Ezra Linehan-Clodfelter starting Awakening the Nightmare (Symmetria Series Book #1) by Lanie Malone .

I brought Ignition because it was advertized here that it was free and the brief description made it sound like it would be interesting but I was wrong. The plot if you call it that didn't start until I was 60% into the book and even at the end nothing was solved.

I wasn't particularly fond of the Sabina Kane series either. I think I read the first couple, but have never been overly motivated to finish the series

LilMisGrayBrisk I finished Timeless (Parasol Protectorate, #5) by Gail Carriger . I thought it was a very good ending to a pretty good series.

Kristen (kristen8) | 46 comments Just finished The Name of the Wind. Didn't get much of my weekend tasks completed so I think I'll wait a bit before I start Wise Man's Fear. Laundry baskets are haunting me. I suppose I'll head to the tbr pile for something a little more modern day and perhaps a little fluffy. I wonder what I'll find.

RIN ಠ_ಠ (wriggrin) | 60 comments @ Jean; Good idea! Didn't think of that. xD

@ Christine; Indeed. I def like Kate Daniels & Mercy Thompson better.

--------------------------------------------

Reading Tangle of Need (Psy-Changeling, #11) by Nalini Singh .

Hawke/Sienna fans would rejoice.
On the other hand, I find this book a little distracting due to so many different POVs. Or maybe it's because I read book 1-10 in a row months and the time lapse between is disconcerting.

I think another issue is that she seems to be throwing in several new characters and giving bigger roles to characters that were just background in previous books. While there's plenty of Hawke and Sienna, and even some Riley and Indigo, there are many more characters that I don't really know.

I'm still thoroughly enjoying it, but I want to know who the Ghost is!

I just started Insatiable (Insatiable, #1) by Meg Cabot by Meg Cabot. It is quite enjoyable so far, though I think it might end up a little romancy, but it pokes fun at the vampire craze while jumping on in there itself.

I'm almost done with the first book and I've really enjoyed it. It's pretty standard PNR, but I like the main characters and it's been a fun read. So far, I like it better than her Demonica series.

RIN ಠ_ಠ (wriggrin) | 60 comments I seem to be in a historical romance stretch. Finished A Rogue By Any Other Name (The Rules of Scoundrels, #1) by Sarah MacLean . It had a promising start and some 2/5 into the book it became so hard to read on. There are tons of positive reviews for this book so I guess it's just not for me. =/

A Lady Awakened (Blackshear Family, #1) by Cecilia Grant on the other hand I enjoyed.

----------------------------------------------

May be time for me to go back and try the Fever series again. No idea what to read anymore. >_>

I had a hard time with that series also. I wanted to like it more than I did. I loved the concept, but was bored at times reading it
