Good suggestions with the 100 page test! And @ Sharon - I never thought about it that way, but I also read to be entertained. If I would turn off the t.v. because it isn't entertaining me, I should think of the book the same way. This would definitely whittle my TBR list down a bit. One thing that I did discover that has helped with this problem is that I download "Samples" of the books that sound interesting on my e-reader and then read that little bit. If it draws me in, I go for the whole book. Maybe combining all of these efforts I can get through the good books and not waste my time on the boring ones:)

So far, so good. I like that it's set in Tokyo, and I like the main characters so far. Although, it does move quite slowly.

It was ok/I liked it but the plot itself took some time to get to the point but then again the story was about her and Nick and have back detail about them and who they were working up to the present to and the bad guy was the focus so mayabe his part was small. I do plan to read the next book in the series.

I had forgotten about that. Someday, I need a reread of this series.

she's annoying as hell when it comes to her morels bout not peeking into her own future which i do think is a good idea but i was kinda hoping she and cal would get together.. i think she'd be good for him especially now that he seems to be going a lil insane :P but he's been a totally douche to her. :(
what do you think of Delilah??

Delilah is her own special kind of character, isn't she? I get where she's coming from, I like her strength and determination, but I'm not a big fan of her with Cal.
A few chapters into
I like it so far. I heard it was a good series so Im excited to get through it so I can start the next one.
I am about a third into Nightlife by Rob Thurman. Honestly I was not expecting to like this book. I even debated starting it, but now I am quite enjoying it.
Ended up rather overwhelmed with the latest books I've been reading that seemed to get darker and grimmer as I read, so went back and re-read two of my 'fun' favorites. Let's face it ... who can resist a chubby, geek with a pocket protector as a vampire? Vampire BluesAnd the second book in the series Voodoo Dues is a free Kindle download today.
There aren't many authors that can manage snicker to laugh-out-loud humor with dark fantasy but when they do it's definitely fun time!

I'm now going to get the third one because it's so much better than I expected.
Finally starting
. I was just a little disappointed in the last Mercy book, so I'm hoping this one will renew my love of Patricia Briggs. So far, so good.

I finished
and was relieved to find it better than the last Mercy book. And that ending was really something. Now, I'm going to start

Jalilah wrote: "Everyone has different taste. I really enjoyed River Marked. I loved the Native American elements."I liked River Marked, but to me it just didn't seem quite as good as the previous Mercy books. Meanwhile, I enjoyed Fair Game more that I did the previous Alpha & Omega books. I just wish we didn't have to wait until next year for the next Mercy book!
Just finished Hide'n Go Seek which worked much better for me than the first in the series. Was hoping the first was mostly issues that could be resolved.
I found that River Marked took longer for me to get into than previous Mercy books, but I really loved how it (finally!) got into Mercy's Native American heritage.Currently, I'm reading
, and wondering how I missed this series for so long. So good!
I just finished
which is a pirate/mermaid adventure. I'm currently reading
,
&
Chipping away at the TBR list!

I loved The Gargoyle, I think people tend to love it or hate it.

Always love it when people discover October Daye!

I'm just curious, what has changed your mind?
Christine,I don't know how to put up the spoiler hiders! I started liking it less at the point when the narrator changes. I hope that does not give away too much!
The fighting scenes were too detailed in the later part of the book but other important details were only implied like what happens with Georgie or Promise. Also, I like it in a fantasy novel when there is also beauty in the magic, it can be a dangerous, deadly magic but there should be moments of wonder too,or if not that, humour, but there was nothing like that in this book. Not for me in any case. I did like the relationship between the brothers and the premise was original
I'm reading Clockwork Angel. I'm about half way through it. So far, its been a fun though light read. I'll give it a more thorough treatment when I'm finished
R.Scott wrote: "I'm reading Clockwork Angel. I'm about half way through it. So far, its been a fun though light read. I'll give it a more thorough treatment when I'm finished"I enjoyed that one a lot more then I anticipated also

too I thought it was excellent and yes I agree that it was better than the last book of Mercy Thompson but then how can we compare I feel bad about saying that. I can't wait for the next book to come out. I have to wonder how many book are going to be in both Series. The end what the Fae did, I wonder how that is going to affect the Series...
Okay so I finished these

I think I get what you're saying. This series is definitely on the dark and grim side. And in many of the books it's hard to find redeeming qualities in Cal, other than his love of his brother. I've become a big fan of this series, but it's definitely not to everyone's taste.
