Have already downloaded the second in the series and will start on that tonight.

I enjoyed some of Nancy A. Collins early stuff and was intrigued when I saw this one. The reviews have not been great though, so I've been putting it off. Glad to see you liked it. Admittedly I liked the darkness of her earlier stuff, so I don't know if I'll like her fluffy side.

I ended up buying

What a coincidence! I recently finished [book:Beauty as well! :D

Not sure what I feel like reading next, currently not in any 'genre phase' (as my recent reads are pretty all over the place)

Ashleigh, I just love the Cal Leandros series. It has grown on me more and more with each book. I love his brother Niko. My copy of the newest release just arrived and I'm so anxious to start it.

True enough, but I think he'd be worth it!

I had a hard time with that one. What did you think?

i just finished Nightlife it was great :D and while i agree Niko is pretty awesome (whats not to like he a super ninja!) Cal's still my favourite! the whole snarky personality had me smiling the whole way through the book :P
i liked Nightlife so much im moving straight onto Moonshine :D
hope you enjoy Doubletake!

True enough, but I think he'd be worth it!"
Agreed! Besides, passive aggressively battling Cal sounds like a great hobby and I'm sure Niko would just love to protect me from his brother while I bait him.

True enough, but I think he'd be..."
And don't forget, we'd have Robin around to pick on, too!

I'm glad you liked it. I enjoy Cal's snarkiness, too!

Mmm, I don't know if I'm going to tease Robin. Robin having his revenge would just be too much for me. Cal with guns and knives standing over me while I sleep I can handle. Naked Robin wandering around with Salome...

LOL, you gotta love his devious brilliant mind ;P

The Mortal Instruments Boxed Set: City of Bones; City of Ashes; City of Glass

I think that is one of those that pick up in the middle. Having said that I have started and stopped the third one like three times.

started

lol.

what did you think of 50 Ways to Hex Your Lover?? personally i couldnt finish it.

Still working on

Finished

Also finished

How are you liking it? I've heard good things about that book.
I too need to take a break from Urban fantasy from time to time.

I always feel guilty not finishing a book - I rarely give up. But, I'm kind of feeling like there are just way too many books on my TBR pile that I would rather be reading and I discover more every day. So little time and soooooo many good books. Maybe I should come back to it in a few months.

I don't feel guilty, two reasons ... one, as you say, so many books and obviously some I'd rather be reading ... second, I read to be entertained and if a book isn't entertaining me, I don't feel guilty if I quit.
A bit like the people who turn off a TV program they don't like ... only for me it's books, not TV.

This is one of several of my personal 'favorites' in the In Death series. There aren't quite as many logical explanations in this one as you'd think there might be.
There are several other situations in the In Death series that are or border on paranormal ... one I particularly remember is her first meeting with Peabody's father.

Oh, yeah! I can't wait to meet Peabody's family! I wonder how many more books I have to read to get to that one?

I'm really bad about titles and with so many in the series can't remember which one this scene comes in.
It's interesting to see how some of the characters in a book will continue on in the series. Jamie, from "Ceremony" is one of them.

You mean you can't keep 30+ books straight? I'm only on the fifth and already can't keep them straight. I haven't met Jamie yet. I'm hoping that at some point Peabody will have the hots for somebody who doesn't turn out to be one of the bad guys.

That sounds like a pretty good test. My TBR monster is scary and I am actually a little stressed about it(odd as that sounds). I might have to try it. :)
I want to try some JD Robb, but see previous comment about TBR monster...though I think a friend of mine is going to push them on me soon.
Currently taking a short break from UF and trying a new author to me

Not really ... have trouble with most of them over 5 or 6 ... I'm doing good to remember the authors!
You'll meet Jamie in Ceremony and you're in for a treat with Peabody's love life, which is actually an ongoing theme for 2 or 3 books and drives Eve right up the wall!

I've NEVER had a TBR of more than 4 or 5 books in my life until I got my Kindle. I sort of 'overdosed' on the free for Kindle lists and think I now have 50-some books on my TBR list. I've kind of backed off and gotten a little more selective ... not just everything that sounds 'kind of' interesting but trying to cut back.
I also got kind of 'overdosed' on DNFs as well, got tired of half a dozen DNFs in a row and then just one 'okay' ... so went back to re=reads from my personal bookshelves for awhile.
Incidentally, the In Death series are all there ... that's one of half a dozen series that I go back to often.
