I know we cannot create proper challenges. But can librarians create proper challenges like the 2011 Reading Challenge?

At the moment, only the staff can create challenges.

I don't see them creating a new challenge though. People have been requesting a way to make personal challenges and if they made a challenge for one person, half of Goodreads would be asking for challenges to made.

I do believe I remember reading that user created challenges are "on the to-do list." What that means in terms of when it will be available, is anyone's guess.

The yearly reading challenge is a site wide challenge and (I believe) the only challenge. I don't think it's something they want to open up to everyone just yet, and Ralph has a good point about making one challenge for one person opening up the floodgates.

I'm not sure what you mean by "challenges." I'm on a group where a challenge has been set up, but it's nothing that GR needs to do or track. We participate, and report on our results...it's not as if there's a monetary prize, so it's pretty much an honor system.
