Diane U (djuseless) It's time to start nominations for September's Christian Fiction group read. I used the list of categories from the Theme thread and using Random.org, it selected:

Love Inspired Suspense

Rules:
1. Nominations are open until the 14th of the month. Rachel will let us know which book has "won" on the 15th.
2. Books must be Christian fiction, or "clean" fiction to be eligible for this read.
3. Books are chosen using Random.org to make it completely fair.
3. One nomination per person.

Nominations so far:

1. A Silent Terror (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense #141) by Lynette Eason - Victoria
2. Running for Cover (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense #187) by Shirlee McCoy - Kristy
3. Speed Trap by Patricia Davids - Lorie
4. The Baby's Bodyguard by Stephanie Newton - Diane
5. Buried Sins (The Three Sisters Inn Series, #3) by Marta Perry - Rachel
6. Buried Sins (The Three Sisters Inn Series, #3) by Marta Perry - Barbara Ann

⚜️XAR the Bookwyrm (xar-the-bookwyrm) I'm going to vote for A Silent Terror (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense #141) by Lynette Eason. I love this author's Women of Justice series and this book is the first in a trilogy done by Love Inspired Suspense. It seems interesting!

Kristy (riverunbroken) | 250 comments I think I will nominate Running for Cover (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense #187) by Shirlee McCoy and hopefully I will be done with all the books I started last month, so I can read this months nomination and next month's nomination. I haven't read a love inspired suspense for a while now.

I'm nominating Speed Trapby Patricia Davids

Diane U (djuseless) I nominate ...

The Baby's Bodyguard by Stephanie Newton

It is currently available for FREE over on Net Galley!

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) Can I nominate Buried Sins (The Three Sisters Inn Series, #3) by Marta Perry? Technically, it's in a series, but I think all the LIS books can be read as standalones. I was going nominate #2 in the series but it turns out to be a Christmas book, LOL! :P

Of course you can! I remember Marta saying the same thing about being able to read them as stand alones when we read Hide In Plain Sight (The Three Sisters Inn Series, #1).

Can I second Rachel's nomination? I couldn't think of one on my own and this would get another off of my to-read list! Thanks for suggesting it Rachel!!

Sure can! I'll add it!

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) Last day to nominate!

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) And thanks to Random.org, September's choice will be...

6. Buried Sins (The Three Sisters Inn Series, #3) by Marta Perry

Congrats, Barbara Ann! I'm sure a lot of us will be looking forward to reading another book by Marta Perry, since Hide In Plain Sight (The Three Sisters Inn Series, #1) was our first ever Amish group read :)

message 13: by Abbie (new)

Abbie (weatherlover1) | 240 comments Are these intertwined enough that I should go and read the 2nd book first I read the first one way back when it was the group read but have not read the 2nd.

O just saw the comments above I still think I might go back and read it. The first book was pretty good.

message 14: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) I think they're standalones, they probably feature the same characters in the background but I remember Marta saying that we can read them out of order. The 2nd book is a Christmas one so I didn't think it was the right time to nominate it! Maybe we can do Christmas-themed nominations for December?

message 15: by Abbie (new)

Abbie (weatherlover1) | 240 comments Ha Nothing wrong with Christmas in August.. :p

message 16: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) I read a couple of Christmas books in July this year. I think I've heard of this being a tradition, "Christmas in July"? Gives me a chance to catch up on all the Christmas books I've not yet read :P

message 17: by Camille (new)

Camille (camlovesraptors) | 802 comments Each book focuses on one of the sisters from the Three Sisters Inn. You can easily read them as a standalone, but there is a small amount of intertwining too. :)

message 18: by Diane U (new)

Diane U (djuseless) Cool! I love when both group reads are Amish because I can get caught up! Marta will definitely be joining us with this read! I'm looking forward to reading another book of hers.

Shaz (zabooksihaveread) | 74 comments Is this book only available to purchase as an e-book? I would like to read it but can't seem to find it for sale anywhere and I don't own an e-book reader.

I found it used on amazon and half.com.

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) Yep, I think there are still some used copies floating around. The newer LI books aren't available on Kindle in the UK for some odd reason (like anything published after 2009) so I often get the paperbacks from Amazon Marketplace. Quite a few of them have arrived with Walmart stickers, all the way from the States! We do have Walmart here (called Asda) but sadly doesn't sell any Christian books.

I live in Australia and wondered does half.com ship internationally? I have never ordered from Amazon before but have read mixed reviews about their shipping.

I usually order books from The Book Depository in the UK or Koorong bookstore here in Australia.. I have just been reading about how Amazon is hoping to buy The Book Depository. Not sure that this will be an altogether positive move. I guess time will tell.
