John | 3917 comments I'm not sure a talking webpage counts as an "audiobook" myself.

aprilla | 254 comments For your research, I am not interested in web pages as audio. Usually when I am browsing web pages I am already listening to an audiobook. But there might be others who would like such and it's a good idea to look for feedback. Best of luck with your endeavour :)

Michael (mikedecshop) | 66 comments I also do not think I would be interested in web pages as audio. when I am looking at web pages I usually skim content. It is very seldom I read web pages in depth. However best of luck.

There is a service that turns blogs (i.e. written RSS feeds) into audio (can't remember what it's called...podiogo or something like that). I tried it very breifly and didn't like it at all...For the most part things that are written in the conversational/newsy style of most blogs and websites that I visit are meant to be read in the written form - they don't translate well to audio - especially not audio as read by a computer generated voice.

For me at any rate audiobooks aren't just random people reading...they are performances by trained actors and so they have all the right context and nuance that I don't believe a computer will ever be able to generate. I certainly quickly gave up on the service I mentioned above after a very short time...if I don't have time to read a blog or website with my eyes then I'll live with missing it
