Fear Not question

Was anyone else aware of the discrepancy in the storyline when Richard Forrester described how he had watched Joanne & Kristiane from a distance. He also described how he'd found it difficult to decide who her father was and he went in to tell of watching Kristiane with Marcus - isack was her father unless I'm reading this totally wrong but I've read that part of the book several times now and draw in same conclusion that the storyline is inaccurate.
