Is Robert Patterson suitable to play Edward?

I agree, no actor could look like real vampire, so pale and beautiful, but the actors are all right.

He is incredibly suited to play Edward. Infact I don't know of anyone else who could have played Edward.

I think rob is perfect for the role... his character is well played and it suits the descriptions in the book too

Yes, because the character Stephenie has described, perfectly matches with Rob. The personality and the way a vampire is supposed to be according to the novel, he has played his best. There could be someone else, but I personally feel, I'd have not fallen in love with that someone for sure. :):)

In the Eclipse novel, Edward comes across as very controlling.

I don't think Rob is like Edward. Stephanie writes Edward as the perfect guy. Rob is playing a role we must remember, and actors like to play roles that are different from themselves. When I've seen Rob in interviews he seems easliy irritated and short tempered.

Well Yolanda, Rob can never be Edward !! moreover, This is how I feel about his act and I meant the play, not Rob (who is human not vampire !!)
Secondly, I don't bother if he is short tempered, because he only played Edward who is so cool and know how to control feelings..I enjoyed it a lot and felt happy to share..Disappointed, if it didn't work for you..

I done really agree he is mainly a guy who people think is hot but also 4 other reasons but in breaking dawn part 1 it was way 2oo much acting it was very intense he creeps me out

I accept the movie as being a separate entity so that I can accept that I am not in fact just watching the book before my eyes.... but I still don't ever watch the films and film like the Edward on the screen is much at all like the Edward in the books, and not just the way he looks. It's sad. I like it when the characters at least feel the same.

I was a little shocked when I heard Robert Pattinson was playing Edward. Don't get me wrong R Patz is gorgeous, the man of my dreams but he didn't fit how I had read him to be in the books. Can't complain doh. Playing Edward made me love him that little bit more :)

I didn't picture Edward quite as Rob but I am very happy with him and think he is perfect in the part. I have changed my mind about Kristen now.
