Only 250. LOL. I must of changed close to 500 when I was doing the New Century publications. I found that in my case it was mentioned in the description so I could just remove it entirely from the title. I still remove them when I come across them.

Also, for example: The Moonstone - New Century Edition with DirectLink Technology. The description is: "This book has DirectLink Technology built into the formatting. This means that we have made it easy for you to navigate the various chapters of this book. Some other versions of this book may not have the DirectLink technology built into them. We can guarantee that if you buy this version of the book it will be formatted perfectly on your Kindle." That's a pretty much standard book description for the directlink books I just clicked on. That's more like advertising than a description and should be changed to a "real" description like:"One of the first English detective novels, this mystery involves the disappearance of a valuable diamond, originally stolen from a Hindu idol, given to a young woman on her eighteenth birthday, and then stolen again." (from another edition)
Yep, just like that. The ones I was dealing with were basically classics that had many, many descriptions on the other editions so I didn't bother. They were really ebooks of public domain fiction & non-fiction that probably very few people will ever look at. (think LLC Books). I changed well over 1000 books all up, including combining etc, I'd still be doing it, if I got super gungho. Luckily only about 500 had the Direct Link Technology problem.
I m with Sandra - Remove from the title, I would not even put in it in the Edition field. And if the description is more like a sales pitch then that should be changed to a proper description if one can be found
(22 as Direct Link and 221 as DirectLink). My understanding from the manual is that this information should be under edition, not title. I have fixed some of them so far, but once I realized there were 250 books involved, I wanted to touch base with other librarians.
