Well, I'm assuming Ariel is now going to be in the middle of the season, meaning they probably won't cast her until sometime around January, when the last half of the season premieres. Then again, maybe she'll be sooner than that. She's probably be the most anticipated character since the show started last year.
And yes, I'll get pictures (assuming it's mermaid-themed, of course!)

Andrea Wahle | 1 comments I'm so happy you posted about the bakery! I am going to Denver for work in October. My husband is going with me and we took a few extra days as a mini vacation. Something to add to my list of things to do and see!

Awesome! It definitely sneaks up on you (it's on a side street in the 16th Street Mall area). You just turn a corner and there it is! It was an exciting surprise!

Brandi | 3 comments I found this awesome amazing website that makes mermaid tails! Well actually, the site doesn't make the tails, but lists a lot of websites that do. You can find walkable tails, cheap swimable tails, or extremely gorgeous tails. One of the sites (mertailors) is listed there and you can buy a tail that the models wore on the lost voices 3 book cover The Twice Lost (Lost Voices, #3) by Sarah Porter . They are very expensive, but they look amazing and they have videos of people swimming with them and they actually work!
So anyone who wants to actually be a mermaid (but is too lazy to make their own tail like me) should visit this site: mermaidtails.net

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) Mertailor must be getting a lot of business these days! It seems like everybody is using his tails. They're ridiculously gorgeous though.

They are beautiful. I've always thought they were the most beautiful mermaid tails. Too bad I'll never be able to afford one, though. :D

message 157: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) My thoughts exactly, lol.

Totally agree! I saw some pictures of his mermaid tails and I've got to say, they are amazing!

Oh my God, I completely agree.

Jeannie, when I have a lazy Saturday to myself, I usually look at the stuff he makes. It's all fantastic.

Howard Parsons (howardparsons) | 181 comments Emm Cole, the author of Merminia, was gracious enough to submit to a 20 Questions Interview on my blog, The Parsons' Rant. If you're interested, here's the shortlink to that interview:

message 162: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) Interesting! I'm not done with Merminia yet, but it definitely lends an interesting perspective.

message 169: by Garrett (new)

Garrett (garrettgoodreads) Guitar Chick, I saw this picture and immediately thought of you. I don't know if it's supposed to be Doctor Who or not, but it definitely made me think of it: http://sphotos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos...

SO COOL! Yeah, that's definitely Doctor Who. I'm definitely going to be asking a few Tumblr Artists to do some art for the crossovers I posted about. One down!

Heather McLaren | 41 comments I just read a book trailer on you tube for a book called Mythos. You should check it out! The video says its the first book in a series. I love mermaid books, and I can't wait until August when this comes out. Mermaids are definitely the hot new thing!

message 174: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) Um, Garrett. I kind of started watching Buffy. When I go to therapy for my addiction to this show, you'll be picking up the tab ;)

message 175: by Garrett (new)

Garrett (garrettgoodreads) Yeees! I'm so excited you've finally gotten to it! How far have you gotten? I tell you, it just gets better and better! No show has ever made me laugh (or cry) like Buffy. Keep me updated on what you think of it! (And I'll gladly pay your tab; it's one of the best addictions to have.)

message 176: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) I'm currently watching the third episode of season 1. My library only has season one, so I might have to resort to questionable means on the Internet to watch all of it since my family cut Netflix Instant what with money being tight. But oh my gosh, this show....it's amazing. Pretty much anyone I've ever met who has seen this show has recommended it to me pretty highly and I really see why. Buffy is a brilliant character. And just...ugh. I can't even, it's so good.

message 177: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) Also Giles is my spirit animal. But that's not important :)

message 178: by Garrett (last edited Nov 13, 2012 07:56AM) (new)

Garrett (garrettgoodreads) I agree, it really is amazing! If you feel so strongly about the first season (which is only the tip of the iceberg in regards to how amazing this show gets) then the other seasons will blow you away! (They get longer, with more character development and stronger storylines.) I highly suggest resorting to any means necessary to find the other se
And yes, Buffy's an amazing character. She's such a great role model for girls and guys. And Giles! Love him too! Actually, I love every character for differentbreasons. I usually find myself quoting that show in real life occassionally. No shame. :-D

message 179: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) I get that: first seasons are rarely what the show turns out to really be, and in the case of Buffy, I'm aware it only goes up from here.
I mean, can Joss Whedon write my life? Please? I mean, he's already done a pieve of it in every single one of his work's, but man. If I could get anyone to write the movie of my life, it'd be him.

message 180: by Garrett (new)

Garrett (garrettgoodreads) Exactly! His writing is what I can only dream of achieving. And you're right: it's like Joss is writing the story of your life in it too. For example, Xander has my sense of humor. Buffy struggled to get by in school like me. Willow's shyness and computer savviness is like me. Part of that is becaue, even amidst all the vampires and demons and magic, Joss manages to make these characters feel real, like people you see every day.

message 181: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) YES! Exactly. I just started public high school after homeschooling for about four years. I definitely can relate.

message 182: by Garrett (new)

Garrett (garrettgoodreads) Lol, I felt the same way. Seriously though, I would totally read Joss Whedon's interpretation of the phone book lol. The man is a genius.

Oh yeah, and remember a while back when I showed you that picture of the Little Mermaid and Doctor Who together? Apparently, it is a design for a t-shirt and the picture is called Part of Every World. It's an actual tee shirt available for purchase. It's pretty cheap, only 10 dollars.

message 183: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) Dude, that's really cheap for a fandom t-shirt. Do you have link?
Have you seen Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog? It's another Joss Whedon. It's only about forty minutes and it's all up on youtube for free. Stars Neil Patrick Harris and Felicia Day, who I've heard was actually in some of the later Buffy episodes. Seriously, go look it up, it's absolutely fantastic. It's kind of partially what's been getting me through this semester.

message 184: by Garrett (new)

Garrett (garrettgoodreads) I haven't watched it but I've heard good things about it. Normally it wouldn't be something I would be interested in, but I have absolute faith in Joss no matter what he's writing. He's also going to be creating the Avengers TV series. And yes, Felicia Day is on Buffy later on. Did you know she has a Goodreads account?! I'm serious, she and Amber Benson (another Buffy star) both do.

message 185: by Garrett (new)

Garrett (garrettgoodreads) Dangitt! I looked for the link to the shirt and aplarently it's no llnger being sold on that site. It was like a 24 hour sale kinda thing. Sorry, Gc! I'm sure there's another one somewhere. If I find it, I'll let you know. :-D

message 186: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) Whaaaat? Felicia is from where I live though. We played her former high school in football a couple weeks ago. I had a minor fangirl moment.
I didn't think I was going to like Dr. Horrbile that much either, but oh my gosh, it truly is spectacular. There's going to be a sequel as well. I'm so excited :)

Too bad about the shirt. I'm sure I can find it again.

Howard Parsons (howardparsons) | 181 comments The Merry Mermaid Christmas Give-away is still going on over at The Merblog but it all ends on Dec. 24th. The authors and publishers were quite generous and we have more books than we can give-away in the space of our 24 day marathon. Therefore, we have opened up the Merry Mermaid Christmas Clearance Centre on The Parsons' Rant. The books will be given away on a first-come/first-served basis. This is your chance to pick up a little something for yourself or a gift for someone you know.

message 188: by Garrett (new)

Garrett (garrettgoodreads) So I was thrift shopping today and struck mermaid gold: I found the entire Children of the Sea series: Sea Witch (Children of the Sea, #1) by Virginia Kantra Sea Fever (Children of the Sea, #2) by Virginia Kantra Sea Lord (Children of the Sea, #3) by Virginia Kantra Immortal Sea (Children of the Sea, #4) by Virginia Kantra Forgotten Sea (Children of the Sea, #5) by Virginia Kantra
I can't wait to try this series, but even if I don't, they were all pretty cheap, so hopefully no buyer's guilt.

S.K. Munt (wordwhisperer) | 85 comments Lol Nutella. We went through this phase in primary school when we'd bring Nutella wrapped up in cling foil to school, poke a hole in it and called them 'Nutella squeezes' I think I I'd on it though.

message 190: by Tracy (new)

Tracy | 103 comments I love how they promote Nutella as a breakfast staple! They point out the hazelnuts, cream and a touch of cocoa, lol. They don't mention the sugar. To me, it's spreadable chocolate, period. Which is AWESOME, but I won't let my kids eat it for breakfast! (Even if it's on whole grain toast, lol)

message 191: by Danae (new)

Danae (danaenicole) | 44 comments I love Nutella. I don't really care whether anyone else likes it or not. I eat it with a spoon.

message 193: by Tracy (new)

Tracy | 103 comments I had never even heard of Nutella until I lived in Belgium (15 yrs ago), and of course there were other brands (cheaper ones that tasted just as good) to choose from. Of course, when I returned home to Canada, I saw Nutella EVERYWHERE. Figures.

message 194: by S.K. (new)

S.K. Munt (wordwhisperer) | 85 comments See I'm Australian and we've had that stuff for over 25 years so maybe the novelty has just worn off? We're finally getting us foods and I'm obsesses with that marshmallow stuff, and 'goober'. Mind you, there's this local restaurant that makes a decadent Nutella pizza!

Never been to Scotland, but my parents just came back from Ireland (researching family history) and LOVED it.

S.K. Munt (wordwhisperer) | 85 comments https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...

There's a pic. It looks more like crepes then pizza but they roll up pizza dough with nutella and strawberries, it's very iconic.

message 199: by Tracy (new)

Tracy | 103 comments That looks so good, I'm totally trying that at home!

message 200: by Tracy (new)

Tracy | 103 comments Yeah, they found an old home where our ancestors lived, several hundred years ago! They took lots of pics. Lots of old, beautiful buildings and countryside..
