ADWD: Predictions for the rest of the series

If you have finished Dance then you might have some predictions for events likely to happen in the rest of
the series. Share them!

Bear in mind that predictions are likely going to be built on the events of all of the previous books so major spoilers are likely.

(view spoiler)[I believe that The Others have the Horn of Joramun (the one that can bring down the wall). They haven't used it because the wall has been stopping the wildlings from escaping the north. Now that Jon has let the wildlings through they will make a last major thrust at Hardhome (to boost their numbers) and then they'll bring down the wall and smash the north. Hopefully this will be *after* Alliser Thorne is sworn in as 999th Lord Commander :p

Victarion will succeed in stealing a dragon which will make Dany do what nothing else could, head back to the seven kingdoms.

Arya (or whoever she is now) will be sent to assassinate Jon Snow. When she sees him there is a 50/50 chance she'll remember who she is and not go through with it.

Jon's vows say he can father no sons. Well Dany cannot give him any sons...take that!

Littlefinger will be king. He's come this far, why not all the way?

(view spoiler)[Melisandre will resurrect Jon, but he will be significantly altered by the experience—not necessarily for the better.

The wildlings will rise up against the Watch, which will cripple the defenses at the wall. The others will bring down the wall and sweep across the north, destroying Stannis and the Boltons.

Rickon will eventually end up as the 1000th Lord Commander of the Watch after it has been reconstituted.

Jon will travel to the Greywater to recover Eddard's bones. While there, he will meet Howland Reed, the last survivor of the Tower of Joy, who will tell him about his true parentage.

Davos' other sons will die.

Ser Robert Strong will successfully defend Cersei in trial by combat. Jaime will then kill her. Strong will eventually be killed by the gravedigger/hound.

Littlefinger will worm his way onto the iron throne, just in time for the invasion of the others to completely destroy Westeros.

Victarion will carry Dany and her dragons (trained by Tyrion) back to Westeros, where there will be an epic battle between Victarion's fleet and Euron's fleet.

Asha will sit the seastone chair.

Sam will learn about the maesters' nefarious plots and expose them to the world.

Jon and Dany will rule as king and queen of the seven kingdoms. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I think that Sansa get some finally learn from her experiences and become the Stark/Tully that she is. She was a little girl with dreams of knights and princes and also quite gullible. I think she will continue to play stupid while she developers into a strong character and finally kill Little Finger.

Yes Jon and Dany will get married.

Benjen Stark will return, maybe as a white walker but as a good guy and mentor Jon. (Im glad to see everyone else is assuming Jon is not done)

Cersei is not cowed, although shamed she is even more ruthless and will get back on her game. I think Jamie will kill her, but only because Cersei tries to kill him first, or puts him in a position where she knows he will die. (hide spoiler)]

Everyone dies.

I predict that based on the near unmanageable amount of characters and story threads, as well as the slow pace of events in ADwD, not to mention how long it took to write that:


-GRRM will have to exceed 7 books (wasn't it originally going to only like 4).


-GRRM will probably not finish the series. Which is ok with me... not everything has to have an 'ending' if you ask me.

I could definitely see something along these lines happening.
