Why is Sammy Squeeing Today?

This is where I'm gonna squee and freak out over obsessions and stuff and there will be absolutely nobody to get annoyed.

Today I am freaking out because after being away for a week I come back, use the computer for a bit, and I find two things that make me gasp melodramatically.

NUMERO UNO... (this is a sad one)

I found out that the second season of the amazing show BBC Sherlock will not be airing in the US until 2012 even though it's coming out this fall in the UK. This is absolutely not a squee, but it caused be quite a few minutes of sighing dissapointedly.

Also, I was on imdb.com looking at different movies and stuff, and under the news for BBC Sherlock, it said that two photos and a short clip have been leaked, showing major plot elements...

But if you never really plan on seeing the show or don't really care about this loose plot bunny, feel free to continue.

Okay, so you may or may not know about how the last season of Sherlock ended with Sherlock, Watson, and Moriarty with his snipers at the pool. Sherlock had sort of saved Watson by getting him out of the vest covered in explosives, but then all the snipers were aiming at Sherlock and Watson, while Moriarty came back after they thought he left, laughing, "I am SOOOOOOOOOOO changable!"
Okay. So Sherlock has the gun, and at first points it at Moriarty, but then he slowly points it towards the ground at the explosives covering the vest. Then he glances nervously at Watson, who gives a faint nod, and then he focuses the gun at the explosives, and the season ENDS!!!

So that was what happened before.

Now, what exactly did the leaked photos I found today depict? (wow, someone just got fired...)

Why am I squeeing today? Well, as many of you may know, I have started reading the Hunger Games. I'm about 83% through it, so I've gotten to the sad part about Rue.

Actually I was squeeing yesterday. In a sad, excited obsessed fangirl kinda way.

And why?

I was watching Netflix, and I was looking through the categories and one said "Suspenseful British TV Shows."
So I clicked on it and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes series from 1984 showed up! I'd seen a few Jeremmy Brett as SH movies but this actually had episodes based on the short stories!

I watched The Final Problem. It was EXACTLY like the book in every way. It was almost like they just copied the diolouge ACD wrote and used that for the script! But OH MY GOSH IT WAS SOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!!!!!

I was squeeing because:

-Jeremy Brett looks almost exactly like Sherlock Holmes (even though he looks a little.... odd....)

-The acting was AMAAAAZING!!!!!

-Moriarty looked like Ebenezer Scrooge, which is how I picture him while reading it!!!!!!



There are more reasons, but I just got up and I don't remember everything. OH! Watson was awesome.

But I was REALLY sad at the end. You know how in the Final Problem (in the book) it says Holmes died but you know he didn't because there's a book called the Return of Sherlock Holmes? In the episode, it actually SHOWED HIM DIE!!!!! It was so sad.

And the ending was really dragged out. While Watson was reading Holmes's letter to him, this really dreary depressing violin music was playing, and it switched to clips of Holmes and Moriarty fighting at the edge of the waterfall, and then Moriarty grabbed him and toppled over the edge... *SOB* and then they were both falling... and falling... and falling... and falling. And then they plunged to the rocky bottom. And then it showed Watson desprately shouting his friend's name. Of course there was no response, and then Watson started sobbing and that was the saddest thing ever. :'|


Um... That may not sound very sad to most of you, but to be fair I was watching it at 11 and I was really hopped up on sugar from eating peanut butter cookie dough. (YES, I do that, and your point?!?!)

Although it almost (but didn't) make me cry, I really reccomend this show! Especially the Final Problem. I also watched A Scandal in Bohemia but it wasn't as good :P
