The Book List

Also, I assumed it was obvious, but I figure I should mention that I started the list over again in March, in the order we've been going. If somebody new joins, we'll give them June. Otherwise, Lauren, you're up again in June.
And that means Meg, you've got April; Alisha, you have May!
Who thinks we'll still be going strong in May? I HOPE WE ARE!!!

Okay, the book list has altered a bit, but here’s what’s in store:
August (Alisha): A Dog’s Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron
September (Lauren): Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand by Helen Simonson
October (Auntie Cheryl):
November (Carol): The Book Thief by Markus Zusak (don’t fret about the page length y’all, it’s technically YA fiction and should read faster than War and Peace)
December (Julie): The Little Giant of Aberdeen County by Tiffany Baker
January (Mums/Nancy): Violets of March by Sarah Jio
February (Amber):
March (Emily):
Oh, Auntie Cheryl? I need your book selection, please!

Cheryl - have you picked your book yet for October. I'll soon be done with Pettigrew, and want to be sure and have your book in the queue so I can get it ordered or picked from the Library. Thanks!
Ashley, on your first post above under #2 . Ability to keep an eye out for garage-sale copies, cheap-o prices, or use a Reader’s Ink book to get free shipping for something else you need on Amazon (anybody else do this?).
I get the garage sales part, and try to do that a lot. The rest if your note under #2, could you explain to me. Is there something here I'm not understanding.... How could I use a Readers Ink book to get free shipping, etc.

1. Plenty of time to obtain copies, get on library holds lists.
2. Ability to keep an eye out for garage-sale copies, cheap-o prices, or use a Reader’s Ink book to get free shipping for something else you need on Amazon (anybody else do this?).
3. Lots of time to plan, prioritize, and schedule reading. For example, perhaps you have a week-long beach vacation planned, and you’d like to read 3 books at once.
4. Perhaps you’d like to put Reader’s Ink books on your Christmas list.
5. Perhaps the SUPSENSE of not knowing what book is next is killing you!
6. Looooooong books have a better shot of getting read.
7. You don’t accidentally read a Reader’s Ink book before it gets announced.
I’m sure more reasons exist, but my child has not been sleeping through the night and my brain is in an utter fog. UTTER FOG. And yes, we lose the surprise element this way, but hey. Life has enough surprises, right?
In the meantime, if you could either email me (ashleyhofmann@gmail.com) or just post a reply to this as to what book you’re selecting for your month, I’ll put together an official list and send it out, post it, etc. Just a reminder, here’s the list of who’s picking when:
August (Alisha): A Dog’s Purpose
September: Lauren
October: Auntie Cheryl
November: Carol
December: Julie
January: Mums (a.k.a. Nancy)
February: Amber
March: Ashley
April: Meghan
May: Alisha.
