Just finished - just started
Just finished an amazing read called All The Wild Children. It's a memoir, but it's always compelling and wonderfully written. It's by author Josh Stallings. Review later.
I've had to give up on Edgewater, I won't be posting a review as it reads like a wish fulfillment fantasy. So I've started The Devil Stood Up and the opening chapters so far have been very dark. Real gut wrenching horror.
Just finished The Rats. I was 13yrs old when it came out and remember others at school reading it with relish. I think I would have enjoyed it at that age but I was to busy studying Confessions of a Window Cleaner at the time.

Might be a while reading it. I'm off on me hols for Easter tomorrow! there'll be too much playing with grandchildren to allow for a lot of reading, I suspect!

Have a good Easter! I'll be watching out for your review too. I got really sucked into 'Alex'.
Just finished Fatal Tango which was a good piece of research burying a promising storyline. Now off to read Fall From Grace An Inspector Mc Levy Mystery
When Ignite and Stuart highly recommend something it's just got to be read. So, just started Mask of the Macabre, great stuff.

Good choice.
Finished Mask of the Macabre now on to Ballet of the Bones. I really enjoyed the first set of stories, but could only give 4*s as there were some historical inaccuracies which irked but didn't detract too much from the story; and a terrible typo on p.46 (Location 706).
Finished Ballet of the Bones well that was my lunchtime sorted. I don't I'll be eating ribs for a while.
Finally finished Man in the Iron Mask! Nothing like I expected. As a tribute to James Herbert, I'm ignoring my challenge and going to read Ash next
I've just started on an advanced copy of Linda Prather's Eternal Beauty, the sequel to Bet you can't... Find Me which was my fav book of 2012.
My favorite author, Carolann Hays has a new book out for FREE, for the next five days. Jump on the bandwagon. I just started it, and it's GREAT!http://www.amazon.com/Downfall-of-an-...
Just finished Fall From Grace An Inspector Mc Levy Mystery which I thoroughly enjoyed - a great sequel to the first novel in the series, Shadow of the Serpent: An Inspector McLevy Mystery. Next on my TBR pile is Hawke's Tor
Just finished Hawke's Tor - a pleasant old-fashioned murder mystery, and a quick read. Now off to start The Poisonous Seed
Just finished Arabelle's Shadows by Fleur Gaskin.Just started my first Agatha Christie book ever, encouraged by reading Jud's enthusiasm for AC: The Mysterious Affair At Styles.
I just finished Ultimate Justice and have decided to read Running the Rift next, although I can't remember what it is about
Hope you enjoy it Natasha, I love AC.I have a foster cat coming that needs peace and quiet, so should be able to read quite a bit the next couple of weeks, might be able to catch up on my target
Jud (Disney Diva) wrote: "Aw, I'm so glad I have inspired somebody :o)"Desley (Cat fosterer): "Hope you enjoy it Natasha, I love AC."
By all accounts, I'm in for a treat. Can barely wait to get to bed ;-)
I've finished The Morganville Vampires Book Four: Feast of Fools - Rachel Caine. Now I am going to read The Morganville Vampires Book Five: Lord of Misrule - Rachel Caine.
I've just finished The Devil Stood Up by Christine Dougherty, quite simply I loved it. The full review can be found on my blog, but if you like the Devil (and who doesn't?) and you like an interesting story then this is for you:

I'm about to start:
I wasn't sure why I had bought the book Running the Rift as it didn't really seem my type of normal read but as I was reading I remembered why..."Mukabera met them on the path, a machete balanced on her headscarf. “I am going to harvest my three beans.” She laughed, hoarse and hearty, showing her large brown-stained teeth. “I wish you the peace of God.”"
I believe that was in the book description and it intrigued me.
At the moment it's a toss up between Trouble in the West: Egypt and the Persian Empire, 525-332 BCwhich I've just got for my birthday and The OtherI quite literally have a heap, and I'm working my way down in, I'm trying to be disciplined :-)
Louise-Lesley (Elle) wrote: "Read the first and then finish my History essay for me, would you?"On a wargames forum someone spammed it with an essay writing service
I must admit, as a freelance writer, I wasn't impressed by what they were charging, didn't leave a lot for the writer
;-))
No, I'm putting off buying a kindle until the heap is under controlI sort of joined this group because I felt that people should know about kindles, which you all do, and you've sold the idea to me. But I've still got the pile to work my way down before I feel I can justify buying one
Just finished Alex. It's an amazing book. Will get my head around a review tomorrow. Starting Mirrors by Damien Nash - available from his own London Town website. oldlondontown.com Short story.
Jim, I don't own a hardware Kindle. I use Kindle software on my smartphone and netbook. Both are really light devices, so I can easily use them to read with while lying in bed.

Ah, so you enjoyed Alex! Good, isn't it?
Natasha (Diarist) wrote: "Jim, I don't own a hardware Kindle. I use Kindle software on my smartphone and netbook. Both are really light devices, so I can easily use them to read with while lying in bed."I have thought of a kindle ap, but as I only have a desk-top it's not really convenient ;-)
Louise-Lesley (Elle) wrote: "When I got my first Kindle I was 2/3 of the way through a book that I still haven't finished *ahem*"Me too!!!
And I had LITERALLY piles of unread DTBs. Shelves full too.
Can't imagine going back to DTBs now. They seem so...inconvenient.
Anyway, I read a good chunk of Darren's WIP before my eyes slammed shut last night.
So far, it's another cracker. His humour and... I dunno...the realness of his fantasy...just ropes me in every time.
I'm really impressed that so far I've only found one typo. A missing 'the' I think it was. I've seen a heck of a lot more typos in mainstream published books.
We beta readers gotta get this read as quickly as possible so Darren can get it out there where it belongs.
