Steve, I don't remember much of the romance actually ! But I remember being quite surprised by the outcome, but then, I was never good at guessing the end anyway !
Oh, by the way, please don't anyone think of me as a weirdo. I have given up on Artemis Fowl. I have decided to re-read Tempt the Devil lol, especially the first chunk of it because I flicked quickly most of the pages... and now that I have gone over it, well I think I'll read it again right till the end ! So I guess I'll probably have read it twice within seven days :/It's funny, never thought myself of a romance kinda girl, but just can't seem to get enough of the love and the passion that I found in this book. Think I have just opened myself to a new genre lol.
I'm still on the easy reading ---
(not usually my kind of book!) I think I have Tempt the Devil, so I might take a look at that next.
I was planning on starting Artemis Fowl at the weekend if my brother brings my niece's copy over for me - he might be over earlier though as my dad is in hospital at the moment.
I've just finished The Kite Runnerand really enjoyed it so immediately downloaded A Thousand Splendid Suns so looking forward to reading that too! Just started reading Along Came A Demon which is ok, but to be honest I wasn't expecting much -I'm just trying to get through some of my freebies!
I can't remember much about a thousand splendid suns think I'm getting it confused with the ending of the kite runner... I just finished The Chronicles of Narnia in chronological order and have just started Artemis Fowl
Patti, I still have not forgiven Jean Auel for the Land of Painted Caves.Just finished The Pillars of the Earth (ken Follett) really loved this one.
I'm currently reading Cave ( Alli Cooper)
a life less ordinary ( Trisha Goddard) surprisingly interesting
and I cant wait to get to Heaven ( Fannie Flagg) I re-read hers quite a lot ... Fried Green Tomatoes at the whistle stop Cafe - welcome to the world, baby girl ...
usually read several at once and its a mark of a favourite when I stick to just one.
please how do you post a link?
Posting a Goodreads link isn't too tricky. Just click the add book/author link above the comment box.Amazon links are a bit trickier. I'll have a look at Simon's how-to guide tomorrow and stick it in a thread. (I know, Karen. I promise I will.)
Or you can copy and paste the URL from the amazon book page in the comment box.
started last night jodie Picoult's last book - Sing You Home...only read a few pages, but i am really getting into it...love it already
Janet, I read Along came a Demon and the follow- ups a few months back. They weren't a bad read but not literature! Hard to follow A Thousand Splendid Suns with that though.
Philip (sarah) wrote: "Finished Six Seconds by Rick Mofina.Terrific.Three seperate plots that eventually merge into one.For me it had everything a good book should have.Murder, abduction, terrorism, the possibility of a rom..."I recently finished Six Seconds too and loved it. 5 stars from me, and a freebie!
I ditched Artemis Fowl after the sample, just not for me and am now enjoying Girl on a Swing.
aw no!! i meant to say to my cousin to get it while it was free but i forgot... oops. She'll have to make do without it, or pay for it.
Ingnite wrote: "I just went to get it - what a drip! I didn't bother before. That'll teach me to be tardy!"With the "lending" system with Kindle would you like me to lend you my copy? With your reading speeds you'd get through it within the 14 days. Send me a PM with your Kindle's email address and I'll see if it works.
well i forgot the name of it so it was kind of hard to recommend it to someone when all i could remember was it was free and someone mentioned it on GoodReads... but nevermind

Thought we can't lend in the UK yet?

Oh, didn't realise that.
Will be good when lending hits the UK. A Thousand Splendid Suns is now utterly gripping. The Taliban are in town........growing my beard in disguise.
I thought we couldn't lend either but thanks Geoff. I need to read a couple of books from authors here before I launch out into the deep again but if we really can, well, I'll take you up on it shortly! Thanks chuck.
I vaguely recall something said 'over there' about .com being able to lend to .uk. Care to investigate, Gingerlily?
Well, if you have Six Seconds, you could try sending it to Ingnite, the silly woman who didn't grab a freebie!
Patti(PE) thanks for the link information. Amazing what you dont see when its straight in front of your nose :) I see 'add book/author' now !Im pleased to see Six Seconds has good reviews, got it the other day
Hubby and I got it when it was free, from the good reviews and the price now looks like it was worth snatching it then !
I just finished Artemis Fowl and am about to start Romeo and Juliet. I should say i would have started it but i only had 10 minutes of lunch left to decide what to read and once I finally did that I had to flick through 24% of my copy to get to the start, so I got nothing read. Stupid university person blabbing on about Shakespeare, if i wanted to know about shakespeare i'd have bought a book about shakespeare not one of his plays, i want to read his play thats why i bought one of his plays! grrr...
rant over

I'd never really read any fantasy, paranormal until I had my kindle so that makes an occasional appearance for a change!
