I enjoyed that Desley. I read it several months back but I found it quite thrillery (if that's a word?)
Just finished " And Still She Wept" by T.C. Barnes, a long book that you can really get your teeth into, great story, couldn't wait to finish it but am sorry to leave the characters behind. Will be interested to hear what you think of The Prisoner of Heaven Steve, it's on my wish list but unsure if I want to pay full price for it. I really enjoyed his other novels so maybe I should, let me know what you think.
just finished The Templar Legacy enjoyed this book the typos spoiled it for me thou just started When the Lion Feeds
Finished Gaspar The Thief adn read (in an evening) Death in The Fishing Net. This is a shortish novel and an edge of the seat thriller.

I think Zafon's a great writer who mixes literary with mainstream very well and that's a difficult balance to get right. I loved The Shadow of the Wind, but less so The Angels Game - not that it was bad, just not as good for me. He's started this latest book very well. It's frothing with intrigue already and with lovely writing I'm hooked. Fermin hasn't appeared yet, but he's had several mentions and always puts a smile on my face.
I love Zafon too, Steve. I enjoyed both Shadow and Angel's Game - the latter was very claustrophobic and atmospheric. I didn't know about Prisoner of Heaven - might have to read this - when I get a chance!
I might have to revisit The Angels Game. I like claustrophobic and atmospheric, but I don't recall much about it. Just the feeling that I like Shadow of the Wind a lot more.
Started and finished The Good FatherI picked this up for free recently and I just loved it!
An interwoven tale of troubled relationships, flawed lives and loves.I was engrossed throughout. The ending was terrific.
I don't know what to read next as this will be a hard act to follow.
Finished Zo White and the Seven Morphs a fun quirky mystery and just started Her Fake Romance by Donna Fasano. Enjoying it so far but then Donna does write fab romances. ;-)

The Shadow of The Wind is one favourite books of all times, Angels Game was not quite as good but not far off.
Steve wrote: "Aw, Anita. You could have waited. :o)"Why didn't you tell me that before Steve ! Too late now (hehehe )

My nephew has just read Hunger Games & has recommended them to me. I have plenty of books on my kindle & wishlist at the moment so won't be spending on these for a while.
Just finished Odd Interlude by Dean Koontz. Very good. Came in three episodes. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Odd-Interlude...
I can't seem to bring myself to buy his latest book on kindle while it is £9.99
Is that wrong?
Fiona (Titch) wrote: "Was ok, nowt to rush book 2 to read lol in my opinion x"ha, yeah. i'm the same. i found it just okay. i have the 2nd and 3rd (they were in the sale when i got all 3) but i haven't started the 2nd yet
Just finished Summer Tea I enjoy this series and have read them all. I will read the next when it comes out. Very readable, only small problem is the odd couple of words which are reversed here and there. Pity a little more polish would make all the difference
Also finished
very short story and an excerpt of Love is Darkness. Won't get the book, don't like haveing this set up.
Finished The Book of Souls, even tho i enjoyed this book,it wasn't gripping, but the writing was good and i like the characters so i will be buying the next in the series.James Oswald likes to use the word guddling a lot,i thought it was a charming word, but didn't know if it was purely Scottish or if the Northerners use it as well.Next i'm startingThe Kult.

Just finished http://www.amazon.co.uk/Going-Down-eb..., a gritty but readable account of a young man trying to survive in prison.Just started http://www.amazon.co.uk/Alex-ebook/dp..., which is good so far.
Am I doing this right? Couldn't see links to the books on goodreads so just added amazon links.

I've just finished
, which I think preteens and tweens would probably have really enjoyed. I'm about to start
.
Started and finished A Royal Mess enjoyed this prequel to Pompomberry House. Then read In Her Own Words by Ruth Jacobs a very short account of the thoughts of a prostitute.
Also read Losing Lucy by Vivien Hampshire an enjoyable kidnap story.
Started Into the Darkest Corner about an OCD sufferer in an abusive relationship.
Philip (sarah) wrote: "Started and finished A Royal Mess enjoyed this prequel to Pompomberry House."Yup, me too. Read it over coffee. Very good. Then wrote the world's daftest review...
...There was something in the coffee. At least that's my excuse. Probably.
Just read (it's a short story!) sleeps with the fishes by Nigel Bird. Quite a claustrophobic story of a man in hiding in a dystopian future. I really liked it.
