He has a thread here - he's a stunning writer and has a pencha..."Ignite, I think I owe you dinner or something (assuming I can get over to the UK for some book signings)... or at least a drink. I am so humbled by your praise for the stories. It means a lot. Thank you.
You can owe me a dinner any time Jason - I'm a bit of a food lover! Really though, I'm just a reader who occasionally gets exctied by books. When I do I tend to shout about it.

I finished Jingo read Timeline and I think next I will read Lesbian Crushes and Bulimia: A Diary on How I Acquired my Eating Disorder
Still proofing Stuart's new one (you'll love it if you loved Tollesbury) so I haven't got anything to add to this thread. Why am I here then? I'm just a wastrel!
Just finished The Nearest Exit. I enjoyed the book however I struggled with all the characters and remembering who was who. Have now started Woman Before Me which seems promising.

Finished Cannery Row by Steinbeck the other day, and already 130 pages into my re-read of The Stand by Stephen King. I heart The Stand.
Thought I saw it for £4.99 from Amazon? Maybe it was one of his others...
Oh his new one has dropped in price recently. I'll find the link and put it in the price drop thread.
Just finished The Cambridge List, and started The Shadow of Black Wings on the train this morning...
I just finished Lesbian Crushes and Bulimia: A Diary on How I Acquired my Eating DisorderWhat's that?
How dare you!! I HAVE NOT been using Kindle Cloud to read while I should be working, I can believe you would insinuate such a thing.
i finished Cover HEr Face by P D JAmes last night, not quite sure I enjoyed it though. Started Parker Pyne Investigates by Agatha Christie as I have a hectic 11 days and need something easy to get in and out of - didnt think much of the first one, but perfect for the next few days.
I'm on with Telling Stories at the moment. I've always liked his band The Charlatans, and was a fan of most of tbe music that came out of the manchester scene during that period. Burgess has actually written the book himself so it doesn't have that polished ghost writer feel to it and it's better as a result. It's almost like he's written the stories as he's remembered them. It's nice as well because some of the references he makes I remember from the time, including a gig at the MEN in Manchester because I was in the crowd.
Entertaining stuff so far.
Finished She Looks Pale agree with the previous views, quality over quantity.Started and finished Taken by L Jerome Word (no Link)
Started Rachel by Hazel Proudlove (no link)
Finished up Unspoken Abandonment: Sometimes the hardest part of going to war is coming home. VERY good read. Go inside the mind of one of our brave men as he struggles to deal with not only external forces abroad, but internal ones once he returns home.
Just started and finished (it's very short!) Jacquelynn Luben's Damaged Goods. a really good, thought provoking story but SO SHORT! In a collection it might well have been the star but I think people will crib at 77p for half a dozen pages.
Just finished Little Girl Lost by Brian McCilloway, Fallen by Karin Slaughter & Final Witness by Simon Tolkien, I really enjoyed all 3 books.Just started The Cutting Room by Jilliane Hoffman.
Last evening (between Andy Barrett's next book and a second go at Stuart's next book - you've got some brilliant stuff to look forward to!) I read a short novella I've had on my kindle for yonks. The Frozen Sky by Jeff Carlson. It had possibilities but for me, this was the wrong medium. It should have been a full length novel. Great ideas but all too compressed and insufficiently explained.
I'm not enjoying Parker Pyne so am going to read something else, just not sure if it will be Kathy Reichs or Tami Hoag. I'm reading an Adrian Mole book in paperback and also my first attempt at beta reading!
Finished Homecoming BluesMurder and mayhem I want this guy on my team ;@)Started Clan Fraser, Once Removed 15% in and really enjoying it.
I loved The Lacuna as you know Jud. There was a lot of scene setting though.Clan Fraser is great - it gets better as it goes along and you get to know the chracters.

I've read fantasy for almost 50 years, and hate Game of Thrones...
I blow hot and cold when it comes to fantasy. Game of Thrones I loved though, but I suspect that the TV show has a lot to do with it. Btw, I heard the other day that they've just started shooting series 3.Now, where's Elle? They film it in her neck of the woods, she should get a job as an extra... :)
they film it near where I work and they shut half the freaking roads for filming sometimes. traffic is a mess!!extras where required to have long natural hair, strikes me out on both counts lol!
Just finished Woman Before Me and Summer on Blossom Street both of which I enjoyed. Have started Gently By The Shore.
Just finished two - on the same day actually: the brilliantly written All Quiet on the Western Front and an indie goodreads thriller Lovesick, a cracking London story that bossed my eyes as well as William Boy's Ordinary Thunderstorms: A Novel did. Immediately started on SING WHEN YOUR WINNING.
I've finished reading The Lost Daughter by Diane Chamberlain earlier today and now I'm about 40 pages into Stolen: A Letter to My Captor by Lucy Christopher.
I started The Kite Runner which so far is a total snorefest.I really dislike the way its wrote and its REALLY putting me off. I *really* do not like first person narrative!
Hi,Just finished A Game of Thrones - which I did really enjoy towards the end but think I would have liked it more if I hadn't watched the show and thus knew what was going to happen. Took me 6 weeks to get through (although admittedly whilst reading other things!)
Also just finished Expel , well the whole series so far - actually loved it, non-stop, can't go to sleep, must-keep-reading. YA though which can be frustrating.
Now reading The Knife of Never Letting Go - which is brilliant
And then the next on my husbands list of things he wants me to read - The Winter King - hope it's good, don't really do history type things usually
