Just finished - just started
Cor! Just finished People of the Sun by Steve Roach. Talk about dark! Really rather good novella I thought.Just started The Street King by R K Lewis which I can't find here. Set in Aberdeen Jud!
Just finished The 7th Victim was quite good, lots or twists and an ending i didn't expect.Just startedCut Short.
Just finished Ron Askew's book "Watching Swifts" and put reviews on Goodreads and Amazons .com, .co.uk and .frExcellent! Just what you would expect from a Lancastrian :-)
Finished The Street King - A Silver City Tale (which I added so there's not much detail!) A really funny shortish story.Started On the Rocks by 'our' Rosen.
I've got two on the go. What the Night Knows by Dean Koontz, which I'm thinking is poor compared to his earlier stuff (of which I've read a lot!), and Be Still by Tania Ramos - a debut from an indie that's about a father and son and their stuttering relationship. The father has been diagnosed with MND and his time is running out. It's the story of whether they will reconcile, but there's something bubbling under the surface - a secret that I can't wait to find out! It's dark, but a good examination of human relationships and family ties.

Koontz is one of my all time favorite authors but I've been really struggling with What the Night Knows. So much so that I've put it down and haven't touched it for about three weeks.

I've not read that one yet but I do enjoy Rosen's zany sense of humour with a bite.
Deep talent, our Rosen has.
I finished On the Rocks. It's not a funny book, this. It's about 2 girls with bipolar disorder. It's sensitive and thoughtful, really. a good read. Now I'm reading The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh, for our village book group.
Pat, did you enjoy A Long time Dead? I think his second is even better.
Timeline's great isn't it Elle? Clever lad, that David.
I recently finished The Moon of Gomrath: A Tale of Alderley again. Super!I've also just finished the delightful User Guide for the Kindle Touch. Good content. Terrible plot. Left me a bit confused, too. Disappointed it ended at just 80% or so - had a lot of stuff at the end about temperatures, terms and conditions, warranties, that sort of thing - wish authors wouldn't do that.
*removes tongue from cheek*
You'll get it stuck there, you will! The Moon of Gomrath's brilliant though, isn't it? It was a considerable influence on my reading.
Yes, it is - I shall have to buy the first book. I've never read it, but I listened to it on the radio when I was a boy.

Yep Ignite, I can't wait to read more in that world. I hope he continues with this world for a long time to come!!

Mine too, and my writing. I can't wait for the third part later this year. 50 years has got to be a record between books in a series by the same author, right?
Anyway.
Just finished Sunshine & Lollipops and just started The Man From U.N.D.E.A.D. - The Curious Case Of The Kidnapped Chemist.
Finished All The Pretty Girls and Strawberry Shortcake Murder. Have started Honeymoon for One which I bought in the sale last year.
Just started Landscape of Memory: Living Folklore in England - the first chapter is about Sussex, where I am - very enjoyable so far. It's free at the moment too.
Just finished the latest Terri Reid Book
It is called Secret Hollows. A lovely episode of Mary O'Reilly. I shed tears and really enjoyed it.It is the seventh in the series and I can't wait for the mext one
Nell wrote: "Just started Landscape of Memory: Living Folklore in England - the first chapter is about Sussex, where I am - very enjoyable so far. It's free at the moment too."That sounds just the job Nell. I've downloaded it too! Thanks for bringing it to my notice. I love this thread!
Nell wrote: "Just started Landscape of Memory: Living Folklore in England - the first chapter is about Sussex, where I am - very enjoyable so far. It's free at the moment too."Thanks, downloaded it. It's interesting, but poorly formatted on my kindle, can't jump to a chapter (and *what* has he done to the photos? Real shame as that lets it down quite badly. I'd probably be upset if I'd paid full price)
I'm reading The Persecution of Mildred Dunlap and it is enjoyable so far though I haven't read much yet.
There's often a balance with converted books with pictures. I'm happy with something like this to get the text.
Just finished Cut Shortwas good enough to make me want to read the next in the series.Just started Judas Kiss.
Just finished Long Time Coming by Robert Goddard, which liked but did not as much as Past Caring. Now reading Found Wanting by the same author.
I've just finished The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, and am so glad to have finished my month of classics. Next is a month of my favourite female authors starting with Tess Gerritsen
I've finished reading The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne this morning and now I'm about to start Certain Girls by Jennifer Weiner.
Finished drummossie a political thiller, very tight fast moving plot.Started Devoted Sisters 30% in and loving it,I will certainly be looking at more of this Author's work.
Just finished Rogue's Hollow by Jan Tillet, I enjoyed it but the ending was rather weak. Also The Burning Soul by John Connolly, which was Gteat, he is one of my all time favourites.
I've finished Enchantment - Charlotte Abel. Now I think I will read This Devil's Dice - Jackson Spence.
Decided to have a bit of fun reading Fifty Shades of Garbage - Allie Beck. See if this is any fun lol xThere she sat, the coffee cup half full and likely cold, gripping that damn book again. Joe had come home from work for three days in a row now this week to find Marcia sitting on the couch, legs curled under her, the dim light of the end table lamp casting a glow on her enthralled form, reading a book with a necktie on it.
I put aside my Book Group read to start Seb Kirby's new one Double Bind. Different - amazingly different - I'm hooked.
Just finished Robert Low's classic viking rampage The Whale RoadPut my back into reviewing it, too: http://www.goodreads.com/author_blog_...The Whale Road
Ignite wrote: "I put aside my Book Group read to start Seb Kirby's new one Double Bind. Different - amazingly different - I'm hooked."Ooh, goody. Look forward to having a read of Seb's new one.
Have at last finished You: A Novel, not my usual sort of read so I did find it a bit slow going, and I found I wanted to shake people rather a lot... Now started State of Wonder which has already gripped me. Almost finished last year's TBR pile, yippee!
Tim A wrote: "Just started Mel's Cruel Justice Regretting it, cos it's hard to put down!"Yeah, Mel's books do that to you...
Finished Fifty Shades of Garbage - Allie Beck. In my opinion, was funny when you saw some parts like Fifty Shades of Grey but, near the end was boring.
Couldn't get into This Devil's Dice - Jackson Spence. So I decided to read my dad's friend's 2 books which are Three's Company & Mid Life Crisis - William Mwendwa.
I've finished reading Timeline and loved it. Now I'm about half way through The Farda and enjoying it so far.

Forgot to mention that I finished and reviewed Seb Kirby's Double Bind which is an amazing book. He's a versatile author; the genre is rather different. It has Sci-fi elements but not the space-wars, green monsters type of thing. It's an identity-theft story with murders and mysteries but as it unfolds we learn so much more....Now reading The Red Tent for the group read.
