Susan "Death Comes to Pemberley" sounded like the worst kind of fanfiction for a moment there. I'm pleasantly surprised it's actually a P.D. James novel. Interesting clash of worlds. Looking forward to hear if it's any good!

Not sure Patti, it was certainly different to what I am used to. The politics was never an issue as I don't normally do politics in a book. Hype wise, never knew what the hype was for the book.

The Pemberley one is a local Book Group read for about 3 months time.

It was a real fun read and did me good! You can't beat a laugh and this was wickedly funny in places. You need to be 'into' aliens and cyborgs but if you are it will tickle your fancy no end.

Yep - my fancy was well tickled!
I've just finished listening to The Merry-Go-Round which I enjoyed and now I am about 40% into listening to Solitary Pleasures which I am also enjoying, I'm enjoying finding out about the different characters. I've been busy crocheting all afternoon so have been listening to the books on kindle - it's surprising how I am able to switch off to the robotic voice and get lost in the story.

I can't imagine listening to Solitary Pleasures - I need/want a reading Kindle...!
It takes some getting used to listening to the kindle read! Because of certain health problems I used to have to rest in the afternoons and would often drift off to sleep listening to the kindle - now, thanks to being diagnosed with sleep apnea and having a cpap machine courtesy of the NHS, my life has been transformed and I now stay awake all day!!! However, that early practice came in handy because I can switch off to the metallic sound of the machine and get lost in the story.
I finished Solitary Pleasures yesterday and loved it - I find people interesting, so this book was great in the way that you gradually learned about the different characters and find out the secrets that they have been keeping. I can highly recommend this.
Now, thanks to Elle's reminder, I'm half way through 13 Little Blue Envelopes which I've had on my kindle since April! It's a nice, inspiring little story. I enjoyed the scenes set in London and seeing the city through a foreigners' eyes.

Started and finished A Dog's Life by Irene Black.

Just started Utz by Bruce Chatwin.

I've just finished 13 Little Blue Envelopes and don't know what to read next - I'm not even sure what genre I fancy! I've been flicking through my kindle and my goodreads shelves but can't make up my mind yet...

Brilliant. It's very short, but free :) I hope you like them.

Thank you

Thank you"
Flux is fairly high on my TBR list now so hopefully that'll be soon too x

I hope you enjoy it. My tbr list is enormous at the minute because I read too slowly.

I found it slow to start and a little bit hard to get into. It was well written and I needed to finish it, so I guess it held my interest. I can’t say it was riveting though
A Just Determination

I've given up entirely on Trollope's The Warden. I just can't make myself care!

Then read As Long As We Both Shall live by Rick Mofina,a short story very originally told to the reader by means of a court transcript, this was spoiled by being just a 'taster' for his subsequent books.
Currently reading Solitary Pleasures by Nell Grey and I am just loving it!
Sorry re links but they don't want to appear for me today.

Much better start than the first in this series. I am enjoying it a lot.
