I finished two short stories last night Passion, Fire and Fury which I really enjoyed and Right Dress, Wrong Girl which was good but a bit gory - I liked the ending (but can't say why of course!)
Now I'm reading To Infinity which is funny - definately shades of Douglas Adams there!! I'm only a few pages in but enjoying it so far.

Karen I am so glad you said about The Etymologicon: A Circular Stroll through the Hidden Connections of the English Language I got it straight away at £1.99 Reminds me of The Mother Tongue: English and How It Got That Way Love that sort of bookI just finished I Want it Now! A Memoir of Life on the Set of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory a freebie, it was quite warm to read, even though I detest Willy Wonka :)
Just starting How to Teach Quantum Physics to Your Dog
lol - sorry, just do! I found both film versions really creepy, and I have to admit - feel the same way about Roald Dahl. I have been good though and sat through readings and films with my kids.. and managed not to convey how I felt about their bedtime stories!
I started Take No More, only read 6% but already feeling sucked into the story, can't wait to have finished my chores so I can do some proper reading tonight, yay to not having extra work :)
I was hoping to finish Robinson Crusoe today but my lunch break ended with 6% to go. No one else is in my office so I'm tempted to read it now...
First time I have tried to add the link thingy .... so here goes. I have just finished The Quinoa Cookbook. I started it today and finished same day. Recipes are fine but the blasted blank pages between the chapters and/or recipes were driving me crazy! Got through it though, will use a recipe or two, and have done the review. ~A~
I have no doubt my foster child will respond to a quinoa dish with a very loud YUCK! But one never knows.... and I really fancy having a go with it.
Finished The Mother Tongue: English and How It Got That Way - finally (have had so little reading time lately) and have started Run, by Jeff Abbott. I can't find it on here, but here it is on Amazon. This is more my normal sort of thing, and I'm liking it so far.
Just finished Robinson Crusoe and cant decide what to read next. Won't have much time for reading this week so will maybe stick to short stories.
off now to dish up the roast pork .... quinoa for another day I guess! I'll let you know Lorraine how the cooking with quinoa goes - probably over the weekend sometime.
Just finished
and just started
The only reason I'm reading the second book is to find out what Barrons is and what is underneath the bookstore. If anyone knows please tell me. lol
I've already started skipping pages, and that's not a good sign.
I started The Darkest Night last night. So far it hasn't gotten past the 'first book syndrome' where it explains everything in pages and pages, but it's good.
Jud (Disney Diva) wrote: "Still haven't decided what to read next. Any suggestions?"Read mine. It's short and creepy, like a malevolent dwarf who throws up his jazz hands and shouts "Boo!"
Jud (Disney Diva) wrote: "Still haven't decided what to read next. Any suggestions?"Did you read Stone Cold Yet? It's a quick read.
Stone Cold no I Don't think so :o) Awesome I have the next 2 to read, I am just about to go for a break now so good timing!
I just 'nearly; finished reading a goodreads giveaway Mr. Nachron's List. I didn't really enjoy this book and so I have started another Blasted Heath book Wee Rockets which I'm already enjoying. Alongside the ebook I've got a copy of Foucault on the go for in the bath or if my kindle is upstairs ;)Archaeology of Knowledge
Jud (Disney Diva) wrote: "I'm only 30% in but A Dish Best Served Cold is AMAZING! Stone Cold coming up next :o)"
I keep telling people that Cornelius is brilliant but will they listen? Well, you will Jud, obviously!
I have started & hastily deleted a few PSI: Blue (Psychic Sensory Investigation Thriller) Jack Wolfe, Paranormal Investigator REPHAIM but now reading Sanctus
too confusing to start with, didn't make it very far in that one at all. Went back to double check what it was all about & then decided not to bother!
Jud (Disney Diva) wrote: "I started and finished A Dish Best Served Cold and started Stone Cold"Nice review Jud! Himself will be pleased.

Himself is extremely pleased. That's a great review. Thank you, Jud.
Edit: As always, I loved the "Yay!" as well.
Just finished Getting Rid of It: The Step-by-step Guide for Eliminating the Clutter in Your Life and continuing with Robinson Crusoe
I'd love to know what you think of War Horse. I've not read it yet, but in the past I've had to teach a number of his books and to be honest I've not been impressed, finding them rather flatly written with little or no emotion.
I finished Stone Cold I preferred the ending to the beginning I really enjoyed it and I think it could be developed into a full length novel it's a really good concept/idea/storyline.Now to decide what to read next
Many thanks Jud. Stone Cold was originally a short story but I turned it into a novella and published it so my readers would have something new from me to read in between my novels.
Glad you enjoy it. xxxx
Thanks. Shall I let you into a little secret Jud? Apart from the supernatural element and the gruesome murders, most of what happens in the book is from my own experiences. I think I wrote it to get some closure from my past.
Wow! Well I hope it helped, you seem like a lovely person :o) (also very glad the gruesome murders were not a previous experince, or are you just saying that?!)
