Just finished The Lost Fleet Dauntless First book by him that I've tried. Loved it. Rushed off to get the following five books. I must be into a 'space' mood at the moment
Just finished The Great Rock N Roll Doomsday Tour Its hilarious!Just started Stormwreck so far I am very impressed.
I'm feeling rubbish so I've been re-reading a book I really enjoyed to make me feel better. Mel's Impeding Justice
I finished Nine Dragons Saturday night. One of the best Harry Bosch books to date, and I've read all the previous ones. Unputdownable is not a word I use very often, but it fits this book.
Awww! Hope you feel better soon Patti. Have you got the updated version? I can send you a coupon from smashwords if you haven't. xx
I took a delightful break from serious fiction and read the hilarious second Algonquin Round Table Mystery by J.J. Murphy called You Might As Well Die set in New York in the 1920's. Here's my review. Its zany cast of characters includes Dorothy Parker and Harry Houdini, along with a bunch of fictional characters who are truly "characters." A great way to cheer yourself up and laugh yourself silly.
I've recently finished A Christmas Carol and last night finished The Breadwinners which I enjoyed. I'm not sure what to read next, maybe Ice King? I've downloaded so much stuff lately with the deluge of freebies, that it's getting hard to find what's on my kindle - I'm thinking of starting a new collection of books that I want to read soon so that I don't forget or loose them!

Karen, I have recently started a new collection called "freebies". My "to be read" collection was getting into a mess with all the free books and I was losing track of the good ones that I knew I definitely wanted to read next.

Good idea Maureen - I've got some good stuff on my kindle that I had forgotten about!

My problem is because I have three Kindles on my account (Linda's, mine and the iPad) I keep sending the books to the wrong Kindle (Annoyingly, Amazon list Linda's Kindle as the default.). There was a freebie that someone here finishes last week and I thought "Oh, I'll read that", only to find that I already had it, on another Kindle.
Oh Geoff! I sorted out how to fix that! Sorry, I should have mentioned it ages ago! We've now got three kindles, the iPad and the laptop on our account. Dave's KK kept showing as the default which was most annoying. I went into manage my kindle and changed the kindle names to 'A Patti's Kindle', 'B Dave's Kindle' and 'C Dave's Baby Kindle'. They seem to be listed alphabetically. Now mine is the default. It may work numerically too. Dunno. Didn't try it.
I rarely download free books now. Life's too short - I go for what I choose because I want it, not because it's free.
Last time I posted I had just started The Old Man and the Wasteland by Nick Cole so duly reporting back...... Worth the money (86p) and worth a read. Interesting, spare writing style which works well in a short novella with imagery that stayed with me after finishing. I gave it four stars. I have also just finished Mike Freeman's second book, Remission Praxis (UK) which, like the first one, I thought was great. In fact I think I enjoyed this even more than the first book as it was tighter and even more action filled. I gave it five stars. I am now reading Snuff, Terry Pratchett. It is sometime since I read a Pratchett book and so far.........what's not to like! Blast from the past, forgot just how much I like his books.
I thought Snuff was brilliant Josephine. He hasn't lost his touch. The word play is really wonderful.
Just finished Richard Wilde by Mary Fitzgerald, really enjoyed it.Started A Highland Christmas by M.C.Beaton.This is a Hamish McBeth story, watched the TV series but this is the first time I have read his work.

I loved the Hamish McBeth TV series, but when I read the first Hamish book, Death of a Gossip, I didn't like it much. Perhaps I should try another though before I give up on him....

Just finished (again, I'm a hopeless addict!) Words To The Wise: Book Two by Cornelius Harker and just started The Night They Nicked Saint Nick by Carl Ashmore. Both brilliant authors in my estimation.
Just finished Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead, started Frostbite by Richelle Mead.. wonder if I finish the series by New year lol
Just finished Collusion and started The Dreaming Suburb. I needed a change from the crime novels I've been reading lately.
Finished A Highland Christmas by M.C.Beaton.It was a heartwarming seasonal read with a touch of humour.Started An Irish Christmas, another easy read.I intend reading festive stories for the next week or so.

I picked up An Irish Christmas from the freebies earlier this week - you will have to let me know if you enjoy reading it. I'm currently reading Ready, Steady, Dig with occasional trips in to try & finish The Moonstone
Just finished Fearless and now startedCourageous Books two and three of the Lost Fleet series. I am really enjoying them.
Just finished The Chatelet Apprentice which was a normal detective story and am starting Company of Liars it already shows promise.
Janet I just loved Ready, Steady, Dig. It's a warm, funny book and I enjoyed the sequel too. I believe number 3 is in the pipeline.I've just finished Carl Ashmore's The Night They Nicked Saint Nick. That was SUCH a good read. If you have children or grand children to read it to you can share the pleasure but it's certainly good enough to read to yourself for Christmas. I recommend it.
Just started Harry Nicholson's Tom Fleck. I've only read a few pages but his style is rather poetic and hypnotic. I feel I'm going to enjoy this!
Since I finished Jan's book I can't get into anything else. I definately want to read Ice King but put it aside for now as due to recent events I want light hearted escapism for a while. I started The Mad Mistress expecting some daft melodrama but the beginning is really horrible, and I found out that it is supposed to be christian fiction (I do enjoy some of that, but the nasty beginning and events don't sit comfortably for that sort of book.) Then I tried Beyond the Bougainvillea because I've had that on my kindle for ages but find that it is also far from lighthearted!! I'm just starting Six Cats In My Kitchen which I hope will be a bit lighter...

Maybe you need an Agatha Raisin, Karen? I so know what you mean about finding book to suit where your head is.

I did download the rest of the Agatha series in the sales, but I'm not really in the mood for her at the mo either! I can't remember when I've been so fussy before!
I've made a seperate collection of stuff that I know I want to read so that it doesn't get lost, but I was trying to clear up some things that had been on my kindle for a while. If all else fails, I'm going to read Sibel's Romantic Comedy Box Set but I've only just bought it so was planning to save it for a while...

That's cuz you're playing too much angry birds, isn't it? Tsk.It'd be easier to choose if getting to blurb was easier, wouldn't it Karen?
