Just finished - just started
Read The Wonder by Emma Donaghue. She writes about the phenomenon of a young girl who appears to survive without food. The story is told through the viewpoint of a nurse who is employed to watch the child as a witness to 'the miracle'. It is a fascinating novel with characters who unfold in unexpected ways.
Just finished The Evolution of Everything: How New Ideas Emerge
which I thought was excellent, but then I like emergent phenomena.Just started
But What If We're Wrong? Thinking About the Present As If It Were the Past.
Finish Terri Reid's latest Mary O book Delayed Departures. Enjoyed it as always.Stopped reading Graham Masterson's Living Death, too graphic for me. I really must remember not to buy any more of his.
Started Dying Light by Stuart Macbride much better!
Also reading Jim's A Bad Penny and Kath's Stir-up Sunday
I've just finished The Gender Game by Bella Forrest (which was a good read but I'm not sure why it's been compared to The Hunger Games!) and Black Tuesday which is a Time Patrol book by an author I've been wanting to read again, Bob Mayer. Might give Stir-up Sunday a read this afternoon.

Kathy wrote: "Just finished Mystery in White. A bit early for a Christmas whodunit but an enjoyable, 'period' classic from the thirties. Easy to read, unusual, and enjoyable. Just starting ..."</i>The 'Mystery in White' sounds perfect for a Christmas read, thanks. I've just started [book:Harry's Game, another book mentioned on Andrew Marr's programme on spy fiction recently. I saw the film some while ago and that was good. (Why has my comment come out in italics? There's an end of italics instruction before it!)
Just finished An Air of Treason, excellent, though best to go from the beginning of the series to see the characters develop and get the in-jokes, Still Life, which I enjoyed very much - well drawn characters with interesting faults - and Cold Earth, again, just as good as previous ones.Enjoyed Mystery in White last year - very good winter read!
Finished and reviewed Mr Mercedes by Stephen King. It's been pointed out to me on another GR forum that I should make it clear my links are all to my reviews so hoping it's clear now.
Pat (Scorpio) wrote: "Just finished Forever Odd Enjoyed it and will get the next one Brother Odd"Think I'm at about 10%!
Nice reading the same series as you. I need to read faster!

How well do you know me? I have no idea who Rick Astley is. And that wasn't a question because I cherish my ignorance on this.

finished Nightblind which was book 2 in the Dark Iceland series. It was an ok read, tho I didn't really care too much about the characters. Think I'll have to dip into one of my Christmas treats next. We were sooo lucky to have Lindsey Davis come and talk at the first Shrewsbury Literary Festival last week, she was lovely. And a Birmingham lass, I hadn't realised! So it's The Graveyard of the Hesperides for me. Warm and witty, just what I need for a chilly December.
Gingerlily - Mistress Lantern wrote: "What, never any links? Even if its to a fabulous new book?"Book links yes, the rest, no. I just don't have the time.
Finished two books today, Edge by Jeffrey Deaver and The Sex Club, both good reads but there were errors in the Jeffrey Deaver book despite being a traditional author.

Just finished Cecilia Peartree's Five Short Stories - lovely - and Jonathan Hill's Not Just a Boy, which was a disturbingly accurate portrayal of the agonies of young teenager-hood - brought back lots of memories!
Just finished Aftermath and really enjoyed it. of all the Robinson books I've re-read so far (I'm doing them in order from the start) I have found this to be the best. A real page turner. Just started The Summer That Never Was
