Stormwreck If you haven't tried it ..."Thanks Ignite - was actually going through my Smashwords download on the computer, and I didn't realise I had the The Great Rock N Roll Doomsday Tour so I'm going to do a new urgent TBR list and I'm sure I'll include this one to try Darren's writing :)
The opening chapter of The Great Rock N Roll Doomsday Tour was quite possibly the funniest thing I've ever read. Ever.

I've just finished reading Betrayal. What a great book! As usual I've reviewed it on both Amazoo's and Goodreads. I picked this book up when it was free (Thanks Kew), but now it's £10.99. There is a film currently in production with Robert De Niro playing Madoff. Should be interesting.I'm now about to start Canadian Meds. It looks interesting. I am already amused by the opening quote, bearing in mind the kind of meds they sell:
One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small!
And the one that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all.

I've just finished
and just started
again, stopped reading it last time, but I'm going to give it another shot. ;-)
I've just finished Full Hearts and Empty Bellies: A 1920s Childhood from the Forest of Dean to the Streets of London which was very well written and interesting. Now I'm reading In the High Valley, the last of the What Katy Did series.

I'm not a fan of James Pattersons newer stuff Mel. I loved his older books (back when it was just him writing) but have stopped reading him completely now.I just finished Inheritance which was awesome!!! The ending was a bit disappointing in a NO!! THATS NOT HOW ITS SUPPOSED TO END kind of way but it was still good and I'm glad the author chose to end it that way rather than with the old cliche. makes me want another book to explin what happened afterwards. Have now started Between Shades of Gray which I am reading for my chruch book club that i'll be going to for the first time on the 24th. It's really heart breaking reading it and I don't think i've even got to the sad parts yet, its really well written.
Me too Jud, I'll give it a couple of chapters to see how I go, but you can tell it's not him writing it! I wouldn't say no to his income last year though, $84million. A mill would do! ;-)
Just finished Mrs McGilvery which SO wanted proofreading - randomly spelling the name McGilvery and Mcgilvery for one thing. Good creepy story though.Just started New York City Legendby our own Darren which is shaping up very well.
I just finished Between Shades of Gray which I was glad to discover at the end that it was based on several peoples experiences and not just one. Was really moving but I wish it had been longer. I have now moved on to number 2 of the monthly group reads The Honour of the Knights don't think its my usual kind of book but I am enjoying it well enough so far :o)
Just finished Rivers of London hmmmm....Just started Before I Go to Sleep. I'm about a third into it and, thank goodness, this time I'm reading a book I like. Reading it for myy book club.
Just finished Mel's Cruel Justice #1 which I really really enjoyed ( will review at the weekend) and now random.org has decided my next book is Simon's The Shadowed Path which I am really looking forward to start. Beware Mr. Stone though, if it's no good I won't be gentle with the cushion bashing anymore !
yes Jud :) My way to avoid the responsibility of making a decision lol !Whoops misread... I made a list a couple of pages back. I have taken off the ones I've read and added Darren's Doomsday one because it's gone up in my to-read list. I count how many there are, enter the value 1 to 11 (there were 11 books this time) and then I clicked and it came up with number 1 :)

Hi Susan, are you enjoying Before I go To Sleep? I read it a couple of weeks ago & can't say I didn't enjoy it but I thought it lost it's way a bit. What did you think?
Read Feedback by Nick Spalding, The Tainted Tree by Jacquelyn Luben and Alone by TR Sullivan also Mel Comley's It's a Dog's Life. I really enjoyed all of them. Now reading But Can You Drink The Water .
I just finished The Honour of the Knights It was good and i would recommend it to sci fi fans but i didnt enjoy it all that much

I'm abput half way through now Anita, and I'm really enjoying it. I have to say, though, that the books I've read recently haven't been up to much, so maybe it shines by comparison! I do admit I'm waiting for something to happem, and if she writes much more in that journal it'll take her all day to read it!
Finished But Can You Drink The Water, started and finished Words to the Wise for a second time, can't decide whether to start the sequel or enjoy the anticipation.
Thats along the lines that I was think Susan. I did find it very readable but felt that S.J,. Watson did tie herself up in knots a bit. Will be buying her next one, writing style was very good.I have just finished American Devil by Oliver Stark. It was really good, loads of gory bits! Hope you will have a run of reading "good books" for a while, it makes me feel really gloomy when I don't have a good book to read. Hope you enjoy the rest of Before you go to Sleep.
It's very good Lorraine, well worth a read. His second book is Killer 88, that is high on my list too.
You sound a bit like me Lorraine, never enough time to get to all the books you can't wait to read.My Kindle just had to have a factory reset & I have to redownload all the books & then put them back into my collections, think I will be busy for the rest of the day. It has brought it home to me just how many books there are that I have just GOT to read!!
Busy day yesterday so I only managed to read a few short stories including Karl Jone's The Night Guy. It was very good, I recommend it.I started Chris's Tear In Time this morning and am aching to get back to it.
Anita, it just seems that the more I am on here and the more I add, I think in the last 2-3 months that I have been on here (doesn't it feel like forever?) I have added another 170 odd books to my list ! Got some serious tidying to do as well, but it's too time consuming at the moment !Patti, so glad you're reading Tear in Time. Still feeling emotional when thinking about it !
Philip (sarah) wrote: "Finished But Can You Drink The Water, started and finished Words to the Wise for a second time, can't decide whether to start the sequel or enjoy the anticipation."Are you going to join us on the Words to the Wise Discussion and Spoilers thread Sarah? There's been a lot of chat there already. (Go on, start the sequel - you can always read that again too - I'm on my 4th reading of that!)
Lol.Congratulatins on your 1000th! :@).Yes I will be joining in the discussion thread just trying to get my thoughts sorted out in my head first. I only wish I had the eloquence to properly describe what the book meant to me.
I'm sure you will do fine. The trouble is, an eloquent book seems to put pressure on you. I feel I ought to write in a Harkerian manner but no-one writes like he does. It's your own thoughts that will add to the discussion Sarah, not how you express them.
