I finished reading The Eagle of the Ninth last night and really enjoyed it - Rosemary Sutcliffe manages to bring the roman era alive. I bought the next two in the series in the summer sale but will have a break before I start those. Instead I started reading Vic's book last night Vic's Big Walk, only read about the first couple of days but finding it interesting so far - and the proceeds of the book will be given to a pancreatic cancer charity.

It is supposed to be a children's book but I wouldn't have realised if I hadn't heard it somewhere - it doesn't read like a children's book.

I finished Killers which was just as awesome if not more so than the kult and now i have started A Hole in the World

I don't know Geoff - I'll have to look it up!

I see it's quite a new film! Wonder if it sticks to the book or not...

I don't remember - I'd bought it in one of the sales so wouldn't have picked it up if it was on free later. It's a good book...

I've seen it!!! I've seen it!!!
Well, duh, of course I have: Channing Tatum!!!!
Just finished Ian Rankins the Impossible Dead which was a good read and carrying on with the other books The Map that Changed the World which I interrupted to read this.
Mo, do Ian Rankins' books need to be read in order? I have a couple of his books in paperback but have never read them.
Hi Patti - I picked up an Inspector Rebus and read it before I knew there were a load of them, after that I read them as I found them. Once I'd accumulated them all, I read them again in the correct order. I think any would stand on their own, but I loved the character of Rebus I felt I wanted to see his progression through the series. Haven't read any of Mr Rankin's newer, post-Rebus books though.PS John Hannah episodes of Rebus on TV weren't awfy good, but the ones with Ken Stott were fabby. Would watch that man in anything....
I read The Eagle of the Ninth many years ago. The Lantern Bearers is about the end of the Roman era in Britain. It's not a happy read but it must have been like that. Rosemary Sutcliffe is (was?) a sublime writer.
I finished A Hole in the World which was awesome, read it all in one day! Hope Sophie releases more. and now I am reading The Three Musketeers I don't think I'll get through this in one day...
I just finished The Map That Changed the World: William Smith and the Birth of Modern Geology which was an interesting read. I have now started Cruel Justice #1and discovered that I have read it out of sequence...It is still very good.
Patti (Pennywise) wrote: "Mo, do Ian Rankins' books need to be read in order? I have a couple of his books in paperback but have never read them."All Ian Rankin's books are pretty much stand alone. There may be occasional reference to things that have happened in the past but they do not interfere with the story.
just finished The Alchemist's Secret which I really enjoyed and have bought the next in the series, they are bargains too!Just started The Kult after so many on here have read it and are on to the next book I felt I was missing out! I'm abut 20% in and am enjoying - but may a bit gory for some tastes!
I'm trying to convince my cousin to buy the kult but she says she's too busy, got a job interview or something, Pfft...

Thank you, Janet. Hopefully not too gory for you though.
Just finished Killers, I really enjoyed it Shaun & can't wait to see where Snow goes next. There will be a next I hope.Hope you are enjoying it Janet, I love a bit of gore but a friend of mine read it & lovely the story but shut her eves at the gory bits, she is about to start Killers.
Just starting House of Treason.
Anita wrote: "Just finished Killers, I really enjoyed it Shaun & can't wait to see where Snow goes next. Plus I have set myself a tough task to try to make each book better than the last!
Shaun wrote: "it's slow going as I keep being distracted by these boards"Is that a hint Shaun, should we leave you in peace for a while for the sake of book number 3?
Lorraine 110% Pure Sweetness ♥ wrote: "Is that a hint Shaun, should we leave you in peace for a while for the sake of book number 3?"I'd only come up with another excuse then. Lol. I may have to curb my internet time when I really get stuck into the writing though.
I've been doing that all day! Read a couple pages, realise another percentage point has gone, put it down, have to know what happens next, ANOTHER percentage gone...Shaun. Write the next book.
I cant do that I have to devour a book when I'm really enjoying it. Took me like 2 days to read Killers, maybe 3
Thanks Mo, glad you're enjoying Cruel Justice. The books were released out of sequence as I had quite a few fans demanding a prequel to Impeding Justice, because they wanted to see what Lorne's relationship with Pete was like.Just read Into Thin Air now reading Toxicity
Finished Passenger 13 which I enjoyed and have just started At Grave's End which is the 3rd book in the Cat and Bone's series.
Last night I finished Snuff Fictionby Terry Pratchett. I'm pleased to say I felt it was well up to his usual standard with great laugh out loud moments. Annoyingly, my husband read it first. I kep wanting him to read bits to me but I refrained. I started Callahan's Crosstime Saloon. It's not what I thought. I'm intrigued!

I'm going to read Mort after 3 musketeers, still intending on reading the whole series. Maybe I'll be done by the time he brings out his next book
T'was with great sadness that I finished Killers... Wasn't ready to go to sleep yet so I started a romance book because I didn't want to get into anything serious (and probably needed to feel a bit of love), now, has anyone got any suggestions for the next book I'm going to read? Got to be a book I've already got :)
Have you got Replica on your kindle? As Jud said, might be easier if you give us a small selection..
