Michael Brookes (technohippy) The Elder Unearthed Tales of NasNoroth and the Cult of the Elder by Michael W. Garza

I've posted my review for The Elder Unearthed: Tales of NasNoroth and the Cult of the Elder by Michael W Garza and it's an excellent read and definitely one for Lovecraft fans to check out:

http://thecultofme.blogspot.co.uk/201...

I'm now onto 'Duallists' by David Wailing and I'm enjoying it so far.

Duallists by Marc Adams

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I've recently finished The Wronged Sons by John Marrs. A really unusual story and one which made me *almost* empathise with someone I really didn't like! Five stars for this.

message 7404: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I've been nibbling away at The Forgotten Garden for well over a week now and have just hit 57%.

It's okay. Set across three different generations with lots n lots of characters to keep straight. Kate Morton can be a bit heavy handed with adjectives in this one.

I'd probably be enjoying it more if I was still on holiday without distractions.

Setting it aside now to read my new Sai King!

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mr-Mercedes-S...

I expect I'll go back to the Kate Morton and finish it at some point. Probably.

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Is that a German translation of Christine, Patti?

message 7406: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Yes David, it's a German translation of Christine.

(It's easier if we just humour him, group.)

Natasha Holme (natashaholme) | 832 comments Just finished Under the Net, Iris Murdoch's first novel. Superbly written, subtly witty, yet rather pointless.

Halfway through Wonders of the Universe by Brian Cox. We're all made of stardust, init.

Now reading Mockingbird (Miriam Black, #2) by Chuck Wendig and wishing I'd done what Patti told me to and read London, the Doggy and Me by Rosen Trevithick which I'm sure I'd like much more.

David Hadley Oh, yes. I finished The Quantum Age How the Physics of the Very Small has Transformed Our Lives by Brian Clegg earlier today. Good stuff, not as uncertain about it as I thought I would be.

Call me Heisenberg.

message 7421: by Steven (new)

Steven | 173 comments i've read loads recently, but the standout books have been Jonathan Cox's Blue trilogy about a police officer working for the met in the 1980s. funny and sad and brilliantly written, I did what I don't usually do and read all 3 books back to back. Only problelem now is that there isn't a fourth book lol. Best thing I've read in a while, and i picked them all up for free which is even better!

Michael Brookes (technohippy) Message in a Bottle by Kath Middleton

I've just finished reading Kath Middleton's second novel 'Message in a Bottle'. It's far from my usual type of read but I enjoyed it immensely - find out why here:

http://thecultofme.blogspot.co.uk/201...

I'm about to start A Gathering of Ghosts - a book I've very much been looking forward to!

No problem - it's a damn fine read.

message 7445: by David (new)

David Hadley Just finished Mockingbird which was... well, meh. I find the protagonist Miriam Back tiresome, probably more irritating in this one than the first one of the series.

Now reading, London, the Doggy and Me, which is great so far.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12600 comments Finished Dr Sleep, enjoyed it but would like to re read on hol when I can read it in two sessions, I think reading it in bits lost something. I've now hit my 40 book target but still got loads in my challenge folder so must have read more paperbacks
