That's true, but the covers is so purty and the links are so dull.

Maybe we ought to get the moderator to issue an edict.

Lance Charnes (lcharnes) Just finished The Vivero Letter by Desmond Bagley. It's an adventure thriller very much of its time (1968), and suffers from a notable lack of thrills or adventure until the last third of the story. Readers seeking their daily top-up of 1960s British male heroics may be better served by going straight to Alistair MacLean. Two stars.

The Vivero Letter by Desmond Bagley

Next up: Seeley James' Bring It, Omnibus Edition .

Bring It, Omnibus Edition (Complete Trench Coat Serials, Episodes I-VI) by Seeley James

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) | 942 comments Since I last posted on here I have read Daughter by Jane Shemilt (got 25% into it and gave up as it was getting so many twists and turns).

Then read Exquisite Betrayal by A.M. Hargrove (which I absolutely loved)

Then I've been reading Dirty Nights, Part One by Emerson St.Clair & Dirty Nights Part Two by Emerson St. Clair (which I am finding rather intriguing with the way the characters are a mess in their heads and stuff), I'm reading Dirty Nights Part Three by Emerson St. Clair at the moment.

It was purely by accident that particular image came to hand.

As you know I would never descend to crude gimmicks in the hope of flogging a book or two.

(Buy my book)

I've just finished The Dollhouse Dollhouse

Ugh! It's one of those books where the story isn't resolved and you have to buy book 2 to find out what happens next.

I won't bother - I consider that cheating on the part of the author.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Long-Midn...

Loads of you read it ages ago, I think.

I started it this morning, and damn, it's good innit?

No idea how long ago I got it. Couple years, at least. Must be a new edition on amazon cuz that link isn't showing that I bought it. Haven't seen any glaring typos so far in my copy.

message 7139: by Kath (new)

It's really good, Kath. Small publisher, I think. Quite dark. Set in Glascow. I'm only 16% in so it could all fall apart but so far it's really very! very good.
