Thank you Jud! My first reader! x
Just finished Divergent which I admit I had reservations about but ended up loving it. Now reading Butcher's Crossing which I hope is as good as Stoner
I've just started reading Vagabond Sky by Mark David Welsh (can't find him on here)It's a humorous fantasy book where an East Anglian bloke finds himself in another time and place where there are dwarves and quests. It's a great read so far.
I've just finished The Inevitable and it was a fantastic read:http://thecultofme.blogspot.co.uk/201...
I'm now onto Balance
Just finished Dead Water and delighted Ann Cleeves is back on form. Now started the intriguing and, so far, well plotted Unwanted - more Swedish crime!
I'm reading Dead Water at present - nearly finished. Just finished Kath Middleton's Ravenfold, very imaginative historical novella. Time for the full length one, Kath!
I'm not sure I've got a full length story in me, Lexie. Mind you, it was only a few months back that I didn't think I had more than a drabble in there!

Kath wrote: "Just a minute! Where's YOUR book? ;)"Oh...erm... *looks up and starts whistling*... oh look, squirrel!
Maybe collaborate??Finished Dead Water, excellent as ever. Now starting Catherine Bailey's The Secret Rooms, factual history about Belvoir Castle.
im reading the most annoying book in history at the minute as a dipper : Philosophy for Everyday Life: A Practical Guideits annoying because it poses these ridiculously amazing questions which im pretty much stuck thinking about for a day then i feel the need to go ask people what they think and they get annoyed at me.
annoying.
42% into Duma Key, really getting into it, just want a couple of spare hours now to get my teeth into it. I do still feel like I've read it before though.
Just finished Unwanted, more Swedish crime! but it's a terrific read - and a first novel! Great stuff. Off to make a start on Stoner
I've just finished Balance and it was a fun read:http://thecultofme.blogspot.co.uk/201...

I finished Fairy Tales from the Arabian Nights and started Oliver Twist, I've only ever seen the musical and never read it before.
Lovely books, Jud. I see Jan Pienkowski has now done an illustrated version of the 1001 Nights. Got to get that for my collection! Edit - just checked on Amazon and I've already bought it, albeit with a different cover, in 2009!
Just finished THE PIRATES OF ERSATZBY MURRAY LEINSTER. It's free from http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/24035
It's classic 1950s SF, Appeared in three consecutive issues of Astounding Science Fiction, and is about 60K works. I loved it, such a change from the modern stuff :-)
If you get it, get the version with the images :-)

The first question is;
Do the gods love what is good because it is good, or is it the fact that they love it that makes something good?
That's called the Euthyphro dilemma which had me completely going back and forth for about 3 days with my answer
I just finished
which I thought was really interestingThinking about starting
.I've only heard about both of them recently.
Elle wrote: "Do the gods love what is good because it is good, or is it the fact that they love it that makes something good?"... Ouch. ... Gotcha. Thanks, Elle. A whole book full of head-mashers like that?? ...

Yep - there is a lot of discussion in between but there is some really wonderful things to make you think!
Just started to read 'Burmese days' from this
.Back when I was a literary snob Orwell was my top author and 1984 my all-time top book. I can't remember what I thought of 'Burmese Days' back then, but then I've got a memory like a... y'know, one of those things.

So long as you read them it's worth it in my opinion. I've curbed my spending because I was buying books and then not getting round to reading them.
I was umming an ahhing about reading Wool, so I decided that I'd send Hugh Howey my interrogation questions and if he didn't reply I wouldn't read it and if he did, then I would. So I'm going to read it :)
