Finished
not as good as the first but an easy likeable read.Just started
; I'm on a roll (and it's boring at work).
Now I've read A Letter for Maureen which I loved and Ray Kingfisher's The Lucky One - A Prize Winning Short Story which was very good. Now I'm just over half way through Green Linnet. What talented authors we have!

Enjoyed reading Matchbox Memories, now started The Boy in the Suitcase which is going well at the mo
I've finished Seance of the Souls, quite simply a must read horror tale. I may have gone a bit mad with the review :-)http://thecultofme.blogspot.co.uk/201...
I'm now onto Beyond Eclectic
Just finished Fellowship with Demons by Lexie Conyngham. She has a loyal following for the Murray of Letho series and I think this is easily the best.http://ignitebooks.blogspot.co.uk/201...

I've had "Boy in the Suitcase" on my TBR list for some time; I've moved it nearer the top now, thanks Karen.
Karen wrote: "Just finished the excellent The Boy in the Suitcase. Going to read Only the Innocent next"I loved Only the Innocent, best book I have read this year. A bit jealous that you get to read it for the first time.
Just finished Everville: The First Pillar by Roy Huff. Interesting ideas and a well described world, it just ended a bit too soon.Moving onto The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared.
I've gone for classics next too. Well, pulp classics hahaThe Land That Time Forgot by Edgar Rice Burroughs
I've just finished Beyond Eclectichttp://thecultofme.blogspot.co.uk/201...
And TAKEN

And I'm now onto Clockwork Dolls

I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I read a lot of Ruth Rendell books a while ago, then one(can't remember which it was now) I didn't enjoy at all and haven't gone back to reading her books again.
I'm currently whittling down my list of books that have been on my kindle for a while, then I can get to more recent books.
Yeah, I think the most recent one of hers I read was disappointing but that was ages ago and I've not a clue which it was. Was pre-kindle so a few years anyway. No idea what I'll read next...
Just finished Tales of Loss and Guilt by Ray Kingfisher which is a really good, thoughtful collection of stories on those themes. I do think he's a talented writer. I was disappointed though, to find that the last section was the first 3 chapters of 2 of his books as 'tasters' - both of which I'd already read. Even if I hadn't I don't like to sample books in this way. I know I'm odd but it kind of spoils the experience to find you don't have several more of the short stories to come, as your kindle suggests. I wouldn't have been at all disappointed if it had just been the length of the short stories and hadn't had that 'padded out' feel.Just started Faust 2.0 by Michael Brooks. As always with his work, the premise is thoroughly intriguing!
Stuart wrote: "I've been reading The Old Curiosity Shop for a while now. Outstanding and inspiring!"Oscar Wilde - "One must have a heart of stone to read the death of little Nell without laughing"
It is a great book tho, Quilp is such a wonderful villain

I hate that too.
Michael had a couple of, I think they were blog posts or drabbles, at the end of Underneath. They were only short. I really liked them. Was an extra treat.
I think most of you know that I've started The Third Rule - The Complete Story
Seriously good book. So far anyway.
Seriously good.

Yeah, those extra little bits at the end of Underneath were from my blog. I've been putting two articles at the end of each of my books.I've only seen them mentioned once or twice in reviews so I don't know if anyone actually even sees/reads them!
Don't read Million Dollar dress, then. That stopped at 60%. That lost her a whole star on my amazon review. And certainly don't read Jon Rance's 20 something. That finishes on 52%.
I really don't like that. I don't mind a shorter book - as long as I'm told it's short. It's the feeling of 'padding' and the fact that I looked forward to more and there was none.
Apart from adding some drabbles to An Odd Quartet I've stopped previewing my other books. Now I just have a a thanks for reading and a link to my blog.
I think that's fine. I don't mind links to where we can find other stuff. But you know when you don't want a book to end.... then- Bang!
I hate previews at the end of books (I hate them on the end of TV shows too & always make a point of reaching for the remote so I don't get spoiled).I've noticed preview chapters creeping in to paperback books too, which is a shame :(
Just finished
4 stars. But then some of you you'd retweeted and liked my review before I'd even taken my finger off the ENTER key!!!

Well I read them. And liked them!
I've just finished reading Clockwork Dolls, it's a solid horror tale, but could have been more.http://thecultofme.blogspot.co.uk/201...
I've now started reading Pompomberry House.
It's not my usual read, but I'm enjoying the humour. I tip my hat to Rosen, writing humour well is very difficult.
Finally finished Odd Thomas, had forgotten the ending. Now started the second, even though I'm catsitting I should be able to read more as I don't know How to work my friends TV, so reading while fussing her cat
I finished Captain Blood, which was awesome. Went on to The Adventures of Tom Sawyer which I found to be quite dull. And I'm going on to something by Jack London next.

BTW
is a hoot!!!
Just finished a very interesting and likable short by Sara Boyd Deceptive Comfort. It brings up some ideas on a community's superstitions and their effects. Well worth a go!
Just finished a Dean Koontz called Strangers. I'm so glad that it's finally finished! It just couldn't hold momentum, and at over 700 pages it was just too long. I'd also guessed the 'cover-up' early on.I've just started Upgrade (an indi) which is proving to be excellent. It was also a bargain for the Kindle. I'm looking forward to reading more as apparently there's a real shocker of an ending!
Holly wrote: "Just finished a Dean Koontz called Strangers. I'm so glad that it's finally finished! It just couldn't hold momentum, and at over 700 pages it was just too long. I'd also guessed the 'cover-up' ear..."I have found that with Koontz and Stephen King, but the Odd Thomas novels are a quick fun read.

That said, I couldn't remember the Odd Thomas ending, so clearly struggling to remember some Dean Koontz stuff.
