dunno, very dry sense of humour the Scandinavians :-)
Oooh, The Boy in the Suitcase is nearly at the top of my TBR pile. Three more to go before I get there. Just finished The Back Road and about to start Alison Wonderland

I enjoyed Alison Wonderland, it's quite whacky

Is that because of all the Danish children that have perished in the LEGO mines over the years?

Yeah, and they've renamed Imperfect Tense as "When I was Young" (makes it sound like a Winnie the Pooh book!) Honestly! *sigh*

Finished the delightfulAlison Wonderland - hope there'll be another - and now, completely different, starting a dark/chilling Scandinavian crime, Three Seconds
I've read a few mediocre free romances lately, but now I've started something that I can get my teeth into - the latest Murray of Letho! Fellowship with Demons. I've only just started it but enjoying the good writing. It picks up themes from the last novel, so I've been wracking my brains to remember what happened last - good idea to quickly scan the ending of the last book, An Abandoned Woman to refresh the memory.
Just finished My Fat, Mad Teenage Diary by Rae Earl. (My five-star review)Just started The Troll Trap by Rosen Trevithick and The Dream of a Ridiculous Man (short story) by Fyodor Dostoyevsky.
I read a few over the weekend Lord Edgware Dies, Murder on the Orient Express,Why Didn't They Ask Evans? and Sea Dog Bamse.I loved the Bamse story and I may have to go for a wee walk to see the statue and the grave next time I am in Montrose
Just finished Hilary Mantel's Bring Up the Bodies (looking forward to the next one but need something a bit light-hearted now!). Just started The Wayward Apprentice by Jason Vail - a bit earlier in history and definitely lighter. Why Didn't They Ask Evans? is one of my favourite Christies!
Can't wait for my next holiday to read loads more on the flight. Although I may be too excited to concentrate on a book for very long
Yesyerday i finished Midwinter of the Spirit, awful,if someone was to ask what the story was about,i would have to say that i don't think there was a story, have got all the other merrily watkins books but after this one i think i might be giving them a wide birth. To get back on track i'm half way through The Death Sculptorand it's brilliant. As i knew it would be.
I loved that book Joo. I know people have made Potter comparisons but apart from a school for magic I didn't see it myself. It also predated Potter, I believe.
Karen wrote: "Finished the delightfulAlison Wonderland - hope there'll be another - and now, completely different, starting a dark/chilling Scandinavian crime, Three Seconds"her next one is also very good. A bit different as it's set in a near future dystopia, but it's full of warmth

Thanks Marc, will go and look for it. I do like her style of writing.
Just finished "Fiction Burns" by Steven Harris which doesn't appear to be listed on GoodReads.Still ploughing my way through the early pages of
the lack of paragraphs making it a bit of a struggle, but there again it is stream of consciousness...

Just finished http://www.ignitebooks.blogspot.co.uk...by Darren Humphries. I loved it - but then, I always do!
I'm in the middle of a couple of books which I hope to finish shortly.

Just finished Penny Kilkenny Saves The Day by Darren Humphries and The Only Genuine Jones by Alex Roddie. Both totally different but both five star reads. Reviews on my blog.I also finished a last read through of Andy Barrett's new book Black By Rose last night - due for publication in Sunday evening if all goes to plan. This is absolutely bazonkingly good.
I've just finished Copy which was very good. Now I'm going to read Friend Request which is the last book for me to read in the auto series - not the last book, that's Copy, but the last one for me to read, read them out of order!
I'm reading short stories at the mo as I am busy crocheting and it is easier to pick those up. I was really enjoying Fellowship with Demons but can't do justice to it at the mo - will pick it up again when we go on holiday next week!

Working my way through Three Seconds but think I'll abandon it. It's really not gripping me, don't care about the characters. Am keen to start on another of our May reads.
Just finished Marvel Comics: The Untold Story which was good but I'm not really sure what I'm in the mood to read next so I've gone back to Sherlock Holmes for the time being.
Just finished Seance of the Souls by David Haynes - http://ignitebooks.blogspot.co.uk/201...Another good Gothic style chiller.
Just about to start Beyond Eclectic
High hopes of this, too!
I finished Friend Request this morning and thought that it was excellent! Not sure what to read next but will prob be another short story.
I've finished The Morganville Vampires Book Twelve: Black Dawn - Rachel Caine and Bang: Memoirs of a Relationship Assassin - David Wailing.
So I've abandoned Three Seconds as I found it dull. Now enjoying Matchbox Memories, one of the May reads
I think you'll enjoy Matchbox Karen.I'm well into our Michael Cargill's Underneath
The main character is very freaky and I'm loving it.
Just finished The Boy in the Suitcase. It's yet another entry in the growing catalog of Scandinoir coming to these shores, and in many ways fits the general pattern: a socially maladapted protagonist, evil doings involving underage victims, societal rot, Eastern European villains, heat waves. That its central figure isn’t a police detective doesn’t move it very far out of the middle of this particular stream. My review is at http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/....
Now starting The Ragnarök Conspiracy , a political thriller.
I've just finished Friend Request and I can highly recommend it:http://thecultofme.blogspot.co.uk/201...
I'm now onto Seance of the Souls
I've finished reading two enjoyable and escapist short stories this morning - Dd's Claire and the haircut of Doom, and Two Penny Blue, both of which I enjoyed very much.
Will look for more short stories to read next, I'm enjoying a run of these at the mo.

Karen, have you tried Ray Kingfisher's Tales of Loss and Guilt - I'm part way through it at the moment and I can really recommend it.Also, Jonathan Hill's hot-off-the - whatever passes for a press in ebook terms - Beyond Eclectic. I finished this last night - I think it's excellent - some are Wow stories. I'm reviewing it later today.

Good suggestions, thanks. I haven't read the first Eclectic book yet, or letter to Maureen. I do have the Ray Kingfisher short stories so I'll have a look at those too. Too many sweeties in the shop....

Mago (Mark) wrote: "Just finished Odd Thomas now onto #2."And I'm not even half way through. For a book I have read a few times before, I can't seem to get into it.
