Steve Robinson (steverobinson) | 2926 comments We're a good team. I want to become successful enough so that she can become my full time researcher and then we can be together more. Anyone being sick yet? And I wouldn't dream of keeping all the cakes to myself.

That's nowt lad - 41 for us last week. We'd have got less for murder! Lovely bloke though and I still think that!

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments My parents are having their Golden Wedding next month. So there!

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments i've only got 3 years under my belt but I wouldn't wish my life away, you have to start somewhere.

Edit: From handbags, chocolate (caramacs), rum and cakes to marriage. That's 2 threads talking about wedding anniversary's now

I could (almost) be old enough to be your mum then, Gingerlily. So behave or you're grounded!

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments My own mum has given up mothering me years ago! I really don't need another one.. and why do I feel a sudden urge to stick out my tongue at you and flounce out banging the door. I never did that when I was a teen!

Vanessa (aka Dumbo) (vanessaakadumbo) | 8459 comments I only did 10 years...I got time off for bad behaviour.
No not really...my ex and I broke up quite amicably and are still friends.
;0)

Repressed youth? Go on, have a good slam, you know you want to!

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Dave and I have been together just over ten years now. I still get butterflies in my tummy when he walks in the door.

Awww... how sweet. Suddenly being single isn't so much fun...

Vanessa (aka Dumbo) (vanessaakadumbo) | 8459 comments I wish I had someone nice *sniff sniff*

Only joking of course...

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Shall we go 'over there' and find a couple of blind dates for these two?

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Patti (P E) wrote: "Shall we go 'over there' and find a couple of blind dates for these two?"

I've been looking, and I'm saying nothing......

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments You go, girl!

Vanessa (aka Dumbo) (vanessaakadumbo) | 8459 comments I think the blokes 'over there' have heard about us two and stay well clear...lol.

message 318: by Steve (new)

Steve Robinson (steverobinson) | 2926 comments Cripes, I think I'm going to be sick now from all this lovey-dovey schmooze! I'm off to do bloke stuff. Painting! :o)

message 319: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments oh dear are we taking over your thread Steve? Is it making you uncomfortable? What a shame, I bet Vanessa, Gingerlily and Patti would never do something like that intentionally

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments of course not - we just get so into the conversation we don't notice where we are. Like the old ladies chatting in shop doorways that annoy me so much!

Vanessa (aka Dumbo) (vanessaakadumbo) | 8459 comments Come back...we didn't mean it...we'll shut up now honest...want a cup of tea and a slice of cake...ooh and I like that colour paint...isn't it nice girls *nudge nudge*

;0)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments i'd love a scone right now with clotted cream and jam... mmmm...

Vanessa (aka Dumbo) (vanessaakadumbo) | 8459 comments He's gone off in a sulk...men eh!
Perhaps he'll talk to us later. Ooh pass us over a scone...that'll go down with a nice drop of wine.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Did I tell you how much I enjoyed your book, Steve?

I'm recommending it left and right. Bored a couple of kindlers in the airport in Cuba about the book group and told them all about your book. They tried to download it there and then but the 3G didn't work there. They downloaded it while we were waiting in line at passport control at the other end.

Should have told you that days ago! Sorry!

That's good - I keep checking Steve's book on amazon to see if it is in the top 100 yet! Still a way to go but being in the top 1000 is a real achievement considering how many millions of kindle books are available!!

:0)

message 326: by Steve (new)

Steve Robinson (steverobinson) | 2926 comments Lunch break - yay! Last coat has gone on the ceiling. Last coat on the walls this afternoon. Then the floor can go down.

I'm having paella.

Thanks for the recommends and sales Patti!

I don't believe that anyone here could cause me to sulk and I'd much rather have the coffee mornings in my threads than in anyone else's. :o)

message 327: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Ceiling! Oh your poor aching arms!

Dave keeps asking me to make paella...last one he had was in Tenby, I think...

Must call the fish man and order prawns.

Sorry, bit of stream of thought happening there...

Vanessa (aka Dumbo) (vanessaakadumbo) | 8459 comments We've saved you a bit of cake and some wine...

message 329: by Steve (new)

Steve Robinson (steverobinson) | 2926 comments My arms are worn down to stubs... Looking really nice now though. Last coat on ceiling and walls - bit of edge work to do in the morning, but for now the painting is done! :o) Until the weather bucks up, when I have to put two coats on the outside! :o( and the tricky-to-paint double georgian doors! :o((

I'm having a beer. Maybe I'll have that wine later, too. :o)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Oops, now you've got me thinking about a glass. Nope. On the wagon this week, after the silliness of last weekend.

message 331: by Steve (new)

Steve Robinson (steverobinson) | 2926 comments I caught that same wagon on Monday morning. Fell of by tea-time. I'll try to catch it again next Monday. :o)

Have you gone for the cheque option from the US Steve? The reason I ask is that my daughter is about to publish a book and had to stump for that option as Santander do not have a system for direct payment from the States without opening a US bank account.

How arcane can you get? I suspect it has something to do with US banking regulations. Their rules are worse than communist Russia used to be.

message 333: by Steve (new)

Steve Robinson (steverobinson) | 2926 comments Hi Geoff,
Yes, it was a cheque only option and from all Amazon territories. Direct transfer was only an option if I could provide US bank account details. I couldn't even opt for direct payment for UK royalites because the finance side of things is all managed by .com. Crazy!

Vanessa (aka Dumbo) (vanessaakadumbo) | 8459 comments How are you getting on with your doors?...you've been very quiet lately. Hope your paella didn't disagree with you.
Speak to you soon...

message 335: by Steve (new)

Steve Robinson (steverobinson) | 2926 comments Hi V. I just posted an update in my author thread. Paella was fine :o)
