I didn't think it that funny at the time, but now I'm busting my spleen laughing about it. :) Thanks for making my day!
YES! It was so awkward! But another funny part was when Snape was crying... ( sorry snape i think ur awesome but still) and Dumbledore was really funny too but i think he was a little crazy while he was dead...
The hug WAS funny, but at the time, I was too busy being angry at Draco. Draco is my FAVORITE CHARACTER, and I just couldn't believe he would side with the people who KILLED FRED, another of my favorites. *sniff sniff*

He was confused, I suppose.
But i liked Fred even more!!! I can't belive he is dead, so sad, so sad.

He really didn't want to go over there, but since his family, the only people who had actually protected him in his life were over there, he did. And they ended up running away. But in the book it was different tho
@Laura: yh I think you're right. They're probably the only people he trusts in the world, but i can tell he didn't wanna be on Voldemort's side anymore. I think if it weren't for his parents he would never have walked ovr to the other side. I know it was different in the book, but I think that was a nice part to add to the movie. :)

Not because they just really l..."lol, that was Dean Thomas...also, I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere that he was trying so hard not to laugh...lol

lol look that's exactly what I said...
I was extremely creeped out when Voldermort hugged Draco. Poor Boy! I bet he'll have ightmares about it for the rest of his life. I was upset about Draco going to the death eaters at the end too, I really thought he'd stay with everyone else!
A couple moments into it, some guy in the theater said "Ew" in this really manly, yet girly way and the whole theater began to laugh. It was so awkward and it had that Harry Potter/random funniness to it that I just love it.
the 'eeh hee hee hee' laugh of voldemort was epic!!! one of the reasons why Ralph Fiennes fitted the role so much, he is brilliantly lunatic as voldemort
I will now ask everyone who is about to hug me how, on a scale of 1-Voldemort, awkward their hugs are.
Gabriel wrote: "I found that creepy. Condsidering how Voldemort looks, and the fact that Draco was weeping. I get the feeling that Voldemort isn't the type of person who would even know what a hug is. So why they ..."Ditto. I couldn't figure out why it was in there- as if Voldemort ever used a welcoming strategy to get people to join him before. It was just strange and uncomfortable- I'm glad people laughed because otherwise I would have been weirded out. It is funnier in hindsight, but I still don't get it.
As for Draco, I didn't think he was being a coward at all. He wasn't going to Voldy, even thought it wasn't obvious to everyone else. I think all the Malfoys, at that point, said screw this war, it's not worth it. Goes to show how important family is to them when it really comes down to it. Though Narcissa had proven how much she loved her son long before that point.
HILARIOUS.
I thought maybe it was to emphasize the fact that Voldemort doesn't understand love, and therefore doesn't even know how to give someone a hug without making them (and everyone around them) super uncomfortable.
But then I thought that the filmakers probably just knew that would be the funniest shit ever to see Voldemort hugging it out with Draco Malfoy.

oddddddddddddd.......but cool none
ok yu r all really random.... but i just gotta join lol

ah it was so weird, everyone laughed in the cinema, people were making references the next day.... It was just unexpected and bizarre, the stupid laugh too. I personally think it made the scene a little more creepy - Voldemort thinks he's in power, he can do whatever the hell he wants - laugh, cry - it doesn't matter because he was in control at that point, and no one (except that feeble speech Neville gave) is going to stop him. As for the walking over and such, I think it really showed the power of a mother's love - an ongoing theme in the series.

I laughed, it was so out of character for Voldemort, all I could think was "awkward". He only went to the other side for love of his mother, you notice they high-stepped it out of there (in the movie).
i was laughing but i was soo sad.... but i new it was coming...
I thought Draco would stay but his parents.........well they made him make the wrong choice.
