My big deal this week is that my hubby bought me a new Nook for my birthday (which isn't until Sept, so it's an early birthday present)!

My old Nook had a huge crack right over the forward page button on the right side that was getting worse and worse because I kept forgetting and using the cracked button rather than the one on the left side.

It was so easy to set up. I connected to my wireless network, then signed into my Barnes and Noble account, and then suddenly all my Nookbooks were right there! The touch screen is incredibly sensitive, too, and it's SO thin and light!!!!!!

So I treated myself to one of the Harlequin Presents One-Click Buy ebook bundles that they have. Gosh I love them!

What are you all reading?

message 5: by Terri (new)

Terri (terrie) I have read most of books in kindle lately. Now I am reading and almost finish the book called ' Doctor takes a wife" by Laurie Kingery. Next book I will be reading Debbie Macomber's .

message 6: by Camy (new)

Camy (camytang) | 1315 comments Mod
Laurie Kingery is wonderful! Which one of Debbie's will you read?

message 7: by Patriciaw (new)

Patriciaw | 49 comments Just finished The Doctor's Family by Lenora Worth, book 3 in Rocky Mountain Heirs series. Love that there's are two storylines that won't get wrapped up until the last book, likely, but still each book is satisfying in its own right.

Those continuity series are awesome, aren't they? I haven't read this one yet from LI b/c I usually wait until they're all out. When there are hanging story threads, I get impatient. :)

message 9: by Patriciaw (new)

Patriciaw | 49 comments Me too, Camy. The only way I've been able to read this one a book at a time is that I recently reopened my subscription service, and the shipments come faster than I expected.

message 10: by Regina (new)

Regina Merrick (goodreadscomrmerrick) | 8 comments I need to catch up on my LI books! Right now I'm reading an advance copy of "The Colonel's Lady" by Laura Frantz. Three chapters in, and I'm HOOKED. With hers, though, you don't want to rush. It's one to savor!

message 11: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (goodreadscomsandraardoin) | 60 comments Okay, I'm about twenty minutes new to Goodreads, so I have no idea what I'm doing (and no friends yet :-) ), but thought I'd join your discussion.

I'm in the middle of reading Lillian Duncan's Pursued as well as Kathy Tyers' 2004 book, Shivering Worlds.

Just finished Fatal Judgment by Irene Hannon.

I love that about the LI subscription service! I wish they had that for ebooks too!

Welcome to Goodreads, Sandra!!! I just friended you. :)

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Kathy Tyers's Shivering World. I actually read the original (I searched for her backlist and ordered a copy online) but then when she rewrote it and released it in 2004, I snatched that up so fast because I loved the original so much and wanted to see how it changed. It was SO much awesomer than before!!! I can't wait for her new books to come out with Marcher Lord Press!!!!

Ausjenny | 225 comments Im reading an Aussie book Heidi's October by Penelope Mccowen and its really good.

message 16: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (goodreadscomsandraardoin) | 60 comments Thanks for the "friending," Camy.

I'm sure you've also read Kathy Tyers' Firebird series. I'm not always a sci-fi fan, but I loved that series and Shivering World looked good. I think I'm just getting to the point where it's picking up speed. She has a great way of writing about things I can't understand, yet it doesn't take away from the story.

It's impossible to catch up! I get four a month, but I read other books too so I always have a pile of LIs at the ready. But I like it that way, because they're quick reads and they're also cleansing reads after reading a few single titles, especially if the other books are in other genres.

I TOTALLY agree, they're really cleansing reads! That's a perfect way to describe them.

message 21: by Terri (new)

Terri (terrie) I am so behind with all latest love inspired books.

message 22: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (goodreadscomsandraardoin) | 60 comments Really? Number four after so long? Great!

I recently finished Virginia Smith's LIS Into the Deep. I enjoyed it very much.

And...the mailman just brought me Stephanie Grace Whitson's new book A Most Unsuitable Match. Can't wait to dig into it! I think my TBR stack is about to fall over.

message 23: by Patriciaw (new)

Patriciaw | 49 comments LOL! I had a vision of a devoted reader sitting beneath a tower of books that fell and buried her...but she kept reading. All that can be seen is a small break in the pile of books atop her, just big enough for one eyeball to peek out, and her arm holding up the book at an angle so she can see the words.

message 31: by Ausjenny (new)

Ausjenny | 225 comments Yes Camy we do. even the american books until recently were around the $17 mark now we can get some around the $13 mark. LI are around $7.50
The problem is we are a much smaller country so they publish less and the costs are more.

That sucks! How about ebooks? Can you get LI ebooks in Australia yet? Are they still $7.50?

message 33: by Ausjenny (new)

Ausjenny | 225 comments No cant get LI ebooks till they are 2 years old. but I get alot from Christianbook which is much cheaper. there is also a place in England we can get them cheaper. the price has come down a bit for LI here but as I have to pay postage one way or the other and with the aussie dollar so strong its easier to get them from Christian book.

message 34: by Camy (new)

Camy (camytang) | 1315 comments Mod
Wow that sounds so archaic of LI not to have the ebooks available right away internationally. :(

message 35: by Lacy (new)

Lacy Williams (lacywilliams) | 2 comments Youch Jenny I can't believe it is so expensive for you there and the ebooks aren't available. :( God bless you for still reading our books!

message 36: by Ausjenny (new)

Ausjenny | 225 comments I dont think its all countries its just our antiquated copyright laws getting in the way. its the same for some other books. we get about 25% of all titles available to us so I am told. Its like someone send me a coupon to download a book but I couldn't get past the first page to put in an address or anything I think it was cos I have an aussie ISP. where as she did it with my address and it worked. The irony is I can get the ebook from England where I cant get it from America but it wont be in kindle form.

message 37: by Ausjenny (new)

Ausjenny | 225 comments Hey when I win books I feel great! but I also have order them every so often. I am going to do an order shortly as I have a gift voucher and there are several books I want. I also have quite a few I need to read right now too.

message 38: by Laurie (new)

Laurie Kingery (goodreadscomlaurie_kingery) | 4 comments Terri, thanks for reading THE DOCTOR TAKES A WIFE! I hope you enjoy it.
Blessings, Laurie Kingery

I agree with lacy, Jenny, you deserve a medal!

Laurie dropped by too!!! Yay!!!

message 40: by Ausjenny (new)

Ausjenny | 225 comments Thanks Camy but I have won several (as you will remember) and have some good friends send a few. but I do buy some also. The one I read was a book I get to judge for a readers award. Only issue is i think want more by the author. the next one will be another Aussie one.

You are too modest, because there is no way you'd be able to win enough books to keep up with a reader's addiction!!! I know I certainly wouldn't!!!

message 42: by Ausjenny (new)

Ausjenny | 225 comments True but this year I have certainly have done well! (I hope to be offering Formula for Success to an aussie in the coming weeks as I now have two copies)

message 43: by Camy (new)

Camy (camytang) | 1315 comments Mod
Do you mean Formula for Danger? I think I just sent that one to you, and you said you already had a copy.

message 44: by Ausjenny (new)

Ausjenny | 225 comments Oh thats it I got two words right.
Yes I came in the box you sent. I am going to give that one and the one of Margaret Daley away over the coming weeks. I did the same with Lenora Worth. I bought the book thanks to it looking so good then won it but had forgotten I ordered it. (I tend to forget when it takes 6 weeks to come) But Im happy to share. someone sent mum one recently too and I have it so am going to give my unread copy away also.
I do buy alot in a year. but if I read only the books I have won or been given this year I would still have enough for most of this year. to many books not enough time. I tend to read more in the day when its sunny rather than wet and cold.
tonight will be another Aussie book.

Jenny, I'm with you--I buy way too many books for me to be able to read. It's a bit pathetic, especially now that I have my Nook. I buy ebooks almost exclusively now, and since they tend to be cheaper than the print book, it's even more of a temptation.

Ausjenny | 225 comments Im reading Cora villa by Meridith Resce. its set in early time Geelong Victoria. The house is set on a real place but the story is fiction. I have been to the area where the book is set but not seen the mansion but may try to next time I go there.

message 50: by Ausjenny (new)

Ausjenny | 225 comments Oh I made a decision about a year ago to not move a bookcase till I move. Well I had to a few months back and remember my decision! I am not moving one again while I live here. it takes ages to take out the books and replace them again! they use to be well organized now they are in.
