Everly Anders | 2 comments As an independent Portland author, I am always wondering what people are reading? What is the last book you bought at Powells and why?

Tiffany | 1 comments The last book I bought from Powell's (online) was The Composition of Tender is the Night. It actually just arrived the other day. I checked this book out from the library a few years ago and enjoyed it (I was beginning to really enjoy textual studies, especially of Tender Is the Night), and the book has been in the back of my mind ever since. I read The Great Gatsby last week, and I'm currently reading Bruccoli's book, F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby: A Literary Reference, so the books I read about Tender have been swimming in my mind, and I finally broke down and bought them online :)

The last time I actually went to Powell's and bought books was a few years ago (even though I live a little north of Seattle, it seems that I don't go down to Portland for Powell's as often as I should or want to). I bought 20 or so books... The last of those that I read was Pooh and the Philosophers : In Which It Is Shown That All of Western Philosophy Is Merely a Preamble to Winnie-The-Pooh.

Paulie Streeter (PaulieStreeter) | 1 comments recently picked up a few books, been leafing through the Crowley reader "Portable Darkness," the "Anam Cara," and reading "A Wrinkle In Time." I like reading up on spirituality and the occult, and dreamy fiction.
