message 101: by Serra (new) - rated it 5 stars

Serra This would be such a great movie, if done right, and it would add to the positive images of strong girls/women out there to counter all the crap on TV.

sailor _stuck_at_sea Personally I think the Defender of the Small series would be better. Kel is a much more sympathetic character.

There have been shows running for years. Doctor Who has been on for half a century. The Tortallan series will be nothing compared to that.

It's "Veralidaine," not "Veralidiane." You're getting the i and a confused.

The only reason why I would hate to see a movie would be because they would majorly screw it up. Movies ruin all books. Rule of life

message 106: by Cally (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cally i think someone already said they where going 2 make a movie but never got around 2 it.... i like Liam!

message 107: by Alyssa (new) - rated it 4 stars

Alyssa With a series like this one, and with a few more series following it, I think it's better to do a TV show. It allows you to get more details in.

Really? A bad film adaptation makes the book worse? How exactly does that work?

message 109: by Eila (new) - rated it 5 stars

Eila Umm I'm pretty sure everyone thinks this would be a freakin' epic movie. I'd try out for Alanna, of course. (Even though I've only been trained for musical theater, and not particularly well at that.)

message 110: by Alyssa (new) - rated it 4 stars

Alyssa I'd love to try out, too. I'd be happy with any part I got as long as it was in a movie based off a book I love.

message 111: by Cally (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cally Yea, IF it was ACTULLY based off it! most of the time they ether add stuff or cut a bunch out! Like in the Percy Jackson movies! (i never really watched it, every1 says its like that).

sailor _stuck_at_sea Yaffa wrote: "Yea, IF it was ACTULLY based off it! most of the time they ether add stuff or cut a bunch out! Like in the Percy Jackson movies! (i never really watched it, every1 says its like that)."

If you're going to make uninformed blanket statements at least base them on a film you've actually seen.

message 113: by Cally (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cally Ok, how about the show heartland?? THAT is nothing like the books! Anyways, I would LOVE a good movie about this series! :P

message 114: by Alyssa (new) - rated it 4 stars

Alyssa Heartland as in Amy and Lou and healing horses?

Natasha At first I thought no. But the series is amazing. The only problem would be that they would just end up ruining it like they do with most books. And like Cherry said, after seeing a horrible movie based off a book, you'll end up hating that book. And no one should hate the Lioness Quartet.

message 116: by Cally (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cally Agreed!
@Alyssa, Yes, i mean Amy and lou and ty.

message 117: by Alyssa (new) - rated it 4 stars

Alyssa Love the books. The show ruined it.

message 118: by Cally (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cally TOATLLY!

sailor _stuck_at_sea Alyssa wrote: "Love the books. The show ruined it."
So because the show was bad you don't enjoy the books anymore, is that what you're saying?

message 120: by Cally (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cally Not what i meant i meant that the show is the worst "based on the books" thing EVER!

message 121: by Alyssa (new) - rated it 4 stars

Alyssa Yaffa wrote: "Not what i meant i meant that the show is the worst "based on the books" thing EVER!"

What she said.

message 122: by Cally (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cally YEA! back to the topic....

message 123: by Audrey (new) - rated it 5 stars

Audrey Cobb When movies or shows are based on a book there is no promise it holds all or even many of the elements of the books. Look at the vampire diaries, highly successful show but beyond character names and the basis on the beginning of the show it is nothing like the books. This doesn't make the creators of the show jerks, simply they are in the biz to make money and are obviously doing very well outside the books' boundaries.

message 124: by Cally (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cally i still dont like it.

Ive never read or watched the vampire diary's. i dont really do vampire's, mostly werewolf's..

message 125: by Alyssa (new) - rated it 4 stars

Alyssa Twilight kinda ruined vampires and werewolves for me. I'm surprised I was able to get through the first book.

message 126: by Cally (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cally Ive never seen that or read that ether... my mom does not want me to.. i dont want to ether.. I like the raised by wolves books tho!
Have u ever read the ally carter books?? my friend bugged me to read those FOREVER and yesterday i finally got around to looking at it to see if it looks interesting and i CANT WAIT to read it now!!

I want to reread this book, i read the first book then like, 6 months later i got the second book and finished the series! the first is kind of hazy.. dont rember much..

message 127: by Alyssa (new) - rated it 4 stars

Alyssa I don't think I've read Ally Carter. Definitely want to look that up now.
Whenever I get the next book in a series, but it's been a while since I read the last one, I always have to reread it, no matter how many books are already out.

message 128: by [deleted user] (new)

I loved this series. I think it would so be a great movie! But it would definitely have to be done right and bring justice to the series!

message 129: by Alyssa (new) - rated it 4 stars

Alyssa Otherwise the producers would have a lot of angry fans on their doorsteps.

message 130: by Cally (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cally REALLY true @alyssa

message 131: by Alyssa (new) - rated it 4 stars

Alyssa Seriously

message 132: by Silvia (new) - rated it 5 stars

Silvia this would be such a good movie it would be amazing!! i really hope it gets made into a movie

message 133: by Rachel (new) - added it

Rachel E. Carter I would pay big $$$ to see this series as a movie. It has been a childhood dream of mine <3

Thorbjorn Just popping in to leave this:

fureshiiness I'm actually surprised there's no movie yet...since this is a pretty popular series...

message 136: by Alyssa (new) - rated it 4 stars

Alyssa Maybe it's because there are so many sequel books, like "The Immortals" quartet and "Protector of the Small" quartet. If they have to make a movie about one, they have to make a movie for all of them. That's a lot of movies.

Zara (Foxing Pages) THIS DISCUSSION GETS ME SUPER EXCITED. I loved the series so much. But I can't picture anyone as Alanna, Thom, or else. I don't know, I'm so scared they will mess it up.

message 138: by Alyssa (new) - rated it 4 stars

Alyssa Every book nerd gets scared when they find out their favorite book is being turned into a movie. Directors will always mess up, even if it's in the slightest way.

sailor _stuck_at_sea Zara wrote: "THIS DISCUSSION GETS ME SUPER EXCITED. I loved the series so much. But I can't picture anyone as Alanna, Thom, or else. I don't know, I'm so scared they will mess it up."

Why? At worst it'll be a bad film. That's it, that's sum total of what could happen to you.

message 140: by Alyssa (last edited Jan 02, 2015 12:38PM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Alyssa No. At worst, it could skip over important details from the book, have terrible casting, redo the entire plot, and add several things that were never mentioned at all in any of the books. It could be a good film for someone who's never read the books. To someone who has, it could be worse than the Percy Jackson film adaptations.

sailor _stuck_at_sea Yes? Like I said at worst it's a bad film. The absolute worst it can do to you is cost you a few dollars an an hour or two. Hardly the end of the world.

message 142: by [deleted user] (new)

I would watch the movie. I love this series, and would love to see it on the big screen (as long as the director got most of the important details right).

message 143: by [deleted user] (new)

It would make a great movie but as always I'm afraid they'd screw it up. But I know myself well enough to know I would still go and see it.

message 144: by Alyssa (new) - rated it 4 stars

Alyssa Same here.

Vanessa It would be nice. But i would so be disappointed if it's not good.

Vanessa Ana wrote: "This series was totally amazing. I love george<3<3<3 I have no idea who would play him, or Alanna, but I can tell you the movie would be soooooooo kick-ass! Well, unless they screw it up... percy j..."

I know right!!

message 147: by Rachel (new) - added it

Rachel E. Carter Does anyone else think the guy who plays Finnick in Hunger Games would make an amazing George. He's totally got the laugh lines and that cocky grin!!! I know, I know, George is supposed to not be as good looking as Jonathan, but he always was hotter in my head;P
